I really hate that people refuse to see the work he actually does on that line not involving G and A's
It's just too bad f*** lol

There is NO Caufield goal without the job Slaf did to chase and RETRIEVE a dump in and muscle off the defender who turns it over so we gain possession In their own zone
Hell we moved the puck so well on that sequence Slaf *and* Hutson couldn't get points there

I encourage people to go watch that play unfold again in the 10 min highlights (in french shows it better) and tell me with a straight face Slaf doesn't help that line
Slaf does many things that people don’t tend to see and I feel, sadly, he’s that type of player that will be underrated for a long time. He’s awesome in the neutral zone and creates a lot from there or his small plays to keep the cycle alive in the o zone.

Inchallah bro

Apparently he's not arriving today. According to Max Truman and D'Amico, the info regarding him arriving today is false.

Truman was on BPM Sports this morning and he said that he's still in Turkey right now and his plane hasn't departed from there to come here yet.
I’m suspicious that it’s just a diversion and he really arrives incognito earlier. :sarcasm:

Still in shock with the news yesterday.................was hoping for that, but thought he would be coming for camp next September. And here we are..................the kid is going to help that top 6 produce some more offence.

I think the expectations may have to be tempered. The KHL is a good league, but it is not the NHL.
Stay tuned...

Plus if you think rookie Demidov is good enough to make an impact on the 1st line, then you should think he’s good enough to vastly improve what should be our 2nd line that is completely ineffective 5v5
I'm even of the mind he is SO talented he would even look spectacular next to Evans Armia just by playing with NHLers at all

He IS the type of top tier talent that thrives any line he's on
Just don't play him only 3 or 8 minutes a game and he's gonna he FINE

He created that first goal with a great forecheck.

There’s some things done on the ice that don’t show up statistically for players individually. He’s a big part of the success of that line. While Demidov is talented, they’d be missing a huge piece of the puzzle. For one, they wouldn’t cycle the puck well, at all. A lot of their offence comes from keeping the play alive.

It’s actually insane to me that someone would think of breaking up what is a Top 3 line in the NHL since the 4 Nations.
Bravo. I was there Saturday. His impact on that line is immense. He’s the puck digger. He’s the outlet passer from the boards in the D-zone.

Put Demidov there and nobody will be picking up the play down low.

It’s essentially what is going to be missing on the 2nd line, even with Demidov. This the reason next year’s 2nd line centre needs to be big and great on the boards. Because Laine is not good at it.

Laine will be floating around the other team’s blue line, as Mtl plays this stretch style of play, Demidov will carry the puck through central ice, but you need a big bodied centre to help with the outlet pass.

88 would be f***ing dope too I always liked forwards with 88 theyre always lethal offensively
I think I saw Tuch rocking it in preseason if I remember correctly and well

'It definitely moved'

But after Kapanens comment, it's clear Demidov will end up getting 91 eventually

After doing research on Kapanens old numbers, 89 was one of them, but does it 'belong' to Roy lol?

In tribute to Val Kilmer too, I think Iceman is a great nickname for the kid.

I expected to see him next year but since we’re a playoff team, it’s super cool he gets to participate already.

Rottenberg and Bob Hartley think he'll be even better in the NHL because in the KHL they play a lot of 1-3-1 defensively.
