I guess I will continue my Russian lessons while watching Demi play in the VHL.
It was fun while it lasted, felt like trade deadline day lol.

Don't blame SKA. They own his rights and they have a team in their equivalence of the AHL, that they want to succeed. I probably would do the same thing and have Demidov bring them a championship.
Are Gritsyuk and Nikishin being sent down? And who gives a shat. They didn't give a damn about the KHL championship or he would have played 30 minutes a game.

Why couldn’t Demidov come to the NHL?

His contract with SKA is valid for the MHL, VHL and KHL. His contract expires the 31th of May. So unless SKA lets him go before the end of the contract, he won't be able to sign his ELC before June 1st.

Demidov is SKA property. They have no allegiance to the Habs. If Demidov is unhappy, he never should have signed with them.

Gritsyk and Nikishin can be sent to SKA-NEVA in the VHL also, which has no age limitations.

So if Gritsyuk will be allowed to leave early to sign his ELC, and there were reports that there was an agreement to allow Nikishin to leave early to sign with Canes, but Demidov is apparently being kept, what is the difference? Gritsyk and Nikishin extended to stay in Russia for a few more years.

The difference is contracts. Young players like Demidov, Zavragin, Kol, etc. are on 2-way.
