If you are referring to low ice time as “BS on Demidov” I’m not sure how that is remotely similar to the current situation lmfao
I’m talking about benching your top scorer and yes, constantly giving him low ice time as an obvious way to pass a message of being in control. The comments about sending him in the lower league after SKA when he clearly doesn’t belong there is another example. Lmfao

Demidov ELC announcement coming tomorrow at 11am EST

It has nothing to do with 'paying your dues'.

If Gritsyuk/Demidov are released but not Demidov, it's because Demidov can be sent to the VHL/MHL to help those teams.
Demidov is not gonna, under contract with SKA, sit around doing nothing 2 months.

But SKA letting all these guys out of their contracts bids very well for Demidov too.

Gritsyk and Nikishin can be sent to SKA-NEVA in the VHL also, which has no age limitations.

So if Gritsyuk will be allowed to leave early to sign his ELC, and there were reports that there was an agreement to allow Nikishin to leave early to sign with Canes, but Demidov is apparently being kept, what is the difference? Gritsyk and Nikishin extended to stay in Russia for a few more years.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least they have that mentality.

Hoping I'm wrong and they let him go to sign with Habs.
Like NHL free agency where a team can either trade away rights or negotiate to the bitter end. Very little return with the former.

From the Habs perspective, let’s say the buyout is less than $400k, reportedly Michkov’s 2 yr buyout. … and Habs can repay Demi in a roundabout way. Kent might want to wait for another win or 2 to know playoffs are a foregone conclusion.

I'm happy for him (if true).

As much as I wanted him here - he's had a very frustrating season.

Now he gets to go play hockey for fun with his big brother for a couple of weeks before starting his NHL career.

This is actually going to be fantastic for him mentally.

The difference is that in the NHL, it's not a question of a KHL prospect being held onto until June 30th to prevent him from going to Russia while the KHL season is still going on.

SKA isn't doing anything that's not within their rights of course. Even if we want them to let Demidov go. They still hold onto his rights.

Ugh this sucks, I guess Rotenberg is that petty after all, at least he’ll be playing pro hockey

Are you guys not able to wait 2 months? He's ours soon, be patient.
Eff that. There was a chance for the Cup this year with Demidov. If the other turds Nichuskin and Gritsyuk are leaving he should just tell them to eff off and leave.

Don't blame SKA. They own his rights and they have a team in their equivalence of the AHL, that they want to succeed. I probably would do the same thing and have Demidov bring them a championship.
