Old fart here ; any of you young bucks know how to stalk Demidov and his girlfriend on instagram or whatever?
Please advise me when you see them boarding the plane so I can pack my folding chair and welcome him at Trudeau airport

No one’s panicking.

They had their meeting. If Demidov would be going to MHL it would already be confirmed.

I'm what Eklund wish he could be, able to deduct situation that I myself make up in my own world.

It means nothing that Demidov is not currently listed on SKA-1946 (MHL). The other SKA u20s like Zavragin and Korotky aren't listed either. SKA-1946 is currently playing in Moscow.

That said, I think Demidov will be in Montreal. The tone of what's being reported just gives off that vibe, along with Rotenberg's non-committal answers; and with news that Bardakov is likely gone too. .

The MHL's SKA-1946 swept their opponents in their Best-of-5 series today. So they move on.

The VHL's SKA-NEVA will begin their 2nd round series on Thursday. They will play Khimik (Kostenko & Sobolev).

So right now, both affiliates are still playing and are options for SKA to send Demidov.

“Demidov’s camp will try to bring him over to the NHL this season, but the chances are slim,” one source told RG. “Most likely, he’ll play in the VHL or MHL instead.”

The main reason? SKA’s front office is refocusing their priorities after a disappointing first-round exit from the KHL playoffs. With the franchise’s hopes for a Gagarin Cup dashed, leadership—particularly head coach and executive Roman Rotenberg—is now set on winning trophies at the lower levels, which could keep Demidov in Russia for the spring
“No NHL team is going to guarantee a top-six spot to a player when their entire season depends on making the playoffs. That kind of talk is complete nonsense,” the SKA source said. “If SKA had advanced past the first playoff round, Rotenberg might have let Demidov go. But now, that’s off the table. SKA is focused on winning a trophy—at least in the MHL or VHL.”
