I don't know what's going to happen but all i know is that after playing a year against men and performing very well in the KHL he's gonna absolutely demolish the MHL if he get sent there.

That's almost unfair for other teams if that's the case lol
A very small part of me would like to see it just because I think he would put up 3ppg but instead he’ll be in the NHL

If he even tries. It must be demoralizing to dominate the KHL and then get sent to the MHL. That would be like the Habs sending Suzuki to Laval.
I don't think it would be. He'd go for a few playoff games, hopefully win a championship as the leader, and get a ton of ice-time.

Would he rather come play in the NHL/AHL? Yes, 100%.

But I don't think Demidov is the type of player that would whine if he gets sent to the MHL. He'd go there and crush it.

Demidov kinda did that already last season, until he got injured like 2 games before his team won it.

Suzuki has been incredible. But our top 6 should not need him to be productive. Our problem is that he's our only offensive center. That's a real problem because we're going to waste a lot of talent on the wings. We need to have a second option there. Moreover, Suzuki is the one player right now that we can't afford to lose. We simply don't have anyone who can step in and do a reasonable job at 2nd line center - let alone first.

With a viable 2nd line center, we have way more options. Caufield should be able to carry a line with a decent center and some help. It's going to be interesting to see how things shake out. I might be tempted to put Demidov with Suzuki and Caufield. Give him our two best forwards to develop with.
Would love to see that too but Slaf might struggle big time unless he finds some chemistry with Laine and whoever the new 2C is

I think everything depends on how much Montreal needs Demidov this season.

If they’re serious about bringing him over and playing in the post season, I’m more than confident they can reach a deal

If they want to bring him over to just stay with the organization, get familiar with with facilities, watch the game from the stands, he is better off finishing the season in VHL and then come to Montreal next season

Wouldn't he not be eligible for the playoffs?
I believe he would have to be on the roster before the NHL trade deadline.

Look, Im being a bit dramatic. But given the trouble that poor guy has endured from that coach of his I would want to be out of there.
I think he’s got a great experience and learned that tings will not always go his way even if he doesn’t deserve it. At the end of the day, he had the opportunity to play every role with the team and excelled

Oh Im expecting he has Kharacter dealing with all that

He only has to play one regular season game I believe.

I think the trade deadline rule is for healthy players on the roster already.

I think the better comparison is Hutson though I said Suzuki.

If the Habs miss the playoffs, do you send Hutson down to the AHL? No, he’s an NHL player. It just doesn’t make sense to me but I guess they want to squeeze as much from their asset for as long as possible.

I hope if he goes down that he doesn’t bother trying as a big f*** you.

I looked into it and as long as he's on the player reserve list and he was drafted by the Habs , he'd be eligible for the playoffs and would bypass the trade deadline rule.

That's crazy.

If he doesn't try over honouring something he signed, then he's not the person I thought he was. Luckily, we already know he is and he would most definitely try.

Hutson is signed to the team already though and is under team control for many years. SKA has invested a lot into Demidov, most likely, and have a lot less opportunity for return. If they want him to honour his contract and play hockey for their organization- I don't see the issue and I'll never be convinced otherwise.
