Arvid is not a playoff performer either. He rarely scores in playoffs either. Not sure where the notion comes from that this small mop of a player is somehow more useful in playoffs.

Savoie has been one of our best players on this losing streak. I’m not liking how knob is dicking around some of these players (Skinner as well) but can’t expect any less from someone whose last name means dick

He doesn't score in playoffs. Hasn't for many post seasons. On an LA club basically bereft of topsix forwards he could be around it for bagging some assists but he doesn't move the dial one iota.
Post back surgeries and with age this player is just useless and one of the worst contracts signed. 8M to this smurf from an org that figured they couldn't afford any of Holloway, McLeod, Foegele. sigh.
In anycase no org worth its salt should be paying this much if it was even only to see playoff performance. This is wasted cap. period. If the org figured they needed another player like this for playoffs just get him at TDL. Arvid or similar would be imminently available. The org couldn't even move this contract now.
While in the same time absolving Stu Skinner and that none of this is his fault. Not sure how well that message goes down when the bench see's Skinner beat like a rented mule on a standard wraparound and not even close to covering it. The team seemed to die there. Again.

I remember this hit and being a little surprised that Nurse got up and appeared to be okay. I guess he wasn’t. When it rains it pours, I guess. Him being out is the last thing this team needs right now.
No Matt Savoie, for some reason, which means less speed, no Nurse on defence replaced by Klingberg and Skinner in net. Kapanen at centre??

Arvid is only useful if he scores a goal?
I don't know how useful Arvid will be in the playoffs. I recall him leveling Ekholm big time in the LA series. Brown, Janmark, Henrique, Ceci were useless until they scored those timely goals so I would wait to declare he's going to be useless in the playoffs

Even the one post season that Arvid had good production,, ppg against us in 22-23 he was a GA nightmare and constantly throwing the puck away and giving us scoring chances. He was really high event, not in a good way. But again the player is coming off two back surgeries and being off almost all season last year. This was another Connor Brown fishing trip except now costing us way more. 8M. Waste of cap.
Really I'm amazed its almost March and people still defending this useless player. Even at half the cost I don't sign this contract.
As far as Janmark, Brown, others I'm of similar opinion that it doesn't warrant continuance. Showing up just in playoffs isn't good enough and of course it makes McDrai just have to row harder keeping the boat afloat all year long.
No Replacement for you @Drivesaitl if you're gone for weeks like this

So Knob finally goes back to the one line that's shown to always be reliable at both ends of the ice in Janmark-Rico-Brown.
Not super excited to see Skinner-Drai-Arvidsson, though we'll see how long that lasts.
I'm not as sad as others to see Savoie out (he's played well, but the Oil need less small wingers in the lineup), but Kapanen should also be joining him in the PB. Bring up Philp and/or Hamblin to centre the 4th line. Or better yet with Nurse out, go with 7 D and double shift McDavid. Drai, and Nuge on the 4th line.

I'd put the over/under for the number of shifts all three of these guys play together as a unit at 3.5. McDavid, Draisaitl and maybe even RNH and Henrique are going to be double shifting alot essentially playing this like they would 11/7 with the three listed as the fourth line taking turns at being forwards 10 and 11.
Wonder if the plan is to dress the additional winger so there is a body available in case someone else needs to be benched along the way.

When this team is moving h their legs there is a reason why so many are picking them to win the cup. The problem is they can’t afford to take nights off. They are struggling. Would be nice if Stu could actually steal a few games until they get back on track. lol
