I didn't quit on this team last year when they started like ass. Won't quit on them now when they're playing like ass. For whatever reason, this team goes through these slumps and comes out stronger on the other side.

All year I've said they're a wagon and I still believe they are a wagon. Illness, breaks, Stanley Cup hangover, whatever the excuse is this time, they will bounce back and go on a tear.*




*assuming they get a goalie (I can't be overly positive all the time)

It sucks but I think we're stuck with Skinner. Gibson has too big of a contract and the front office doesn't see him as much of an upgrade. Haven't heard anything on Vejmelka. Outside of that nothing really available.

Maybe a Stanley Cup rematch will wake McDavid and the rest of the boys up. McDavid needs to pull his head out and start playing and acting like the captain and leader. His play has been poor the past few months.
I am slightly annoyed that suddenly with Team Canada he was flying around the ice. Then with the Oilers he looks disinterested and lazy again.
Regardless, this team is likely a first round exit unless they make some major moves at the deadline.

I will give our team a last chance to show up...if they don't show up against the cats with the history they have, something should happen and hopefully something good... otherwise our superstars will be pissed and/or gone.

The Oilers often play like they expect to win rather than thinking they'll have to earn it. If their will matched their skill they'd probably win about 55 games a year.

I think that is really the concerning part. This isn't a lazy team and I'm not going to question their give a shit o meter.

They have demonstrated the ability to completely and utterly lose their game. Especially after breaks.

I'm going to go into the playoffs with a team that's likely going to be playing hard and looking good with that thought at the back of my head. What if they Lose their game? Poof it's gone for a game or two in the playoffs.. SERIES lost. It happened in Vegas two years ago.. lost their game a couple of times. They lost their game in game 1 vs Vancouver and struggled throughout the series to get it back. They lost their game in games 2 and 3 vs Florida you could say as well.

This is a great hockey team that on the flip of a coin can lose their game.

I wish this was just a regular season doldrums thing but I don't believe it is. This teams game can vanish into thing air in the playoffs even (at least for a game or two). Just have to hope that at some time they become resilient to themselves I guess. The biggest obstacle to the Edmonton Oilers winning the cup is the Edmonton Oilers imo.

Every team goes through slumps and the idea is to peak right as playoffs start. It's better this team works through a slump now and not when they are trying to gear up for playoffs. Teams that peak around now always seem to burn out in the playoffs. I have faith.

Dont really understand why kulak doesnt get a shot with Nurse (if he is playing). Stat wise they were really good together when they did play.

Also, nice to see that the lines are back to somewhat normal. I guess knob figured it's time to stop trying to force fits.

Savoie being the odd man out instead of Arvidsson…and we wonder why our young guys sign offer sheets the moment they get an opportunity. Knob is quickly becoming Tippet 2.0 in that regard.
