I just realized we have the Hawks tomorrow. Rangers are going to even make that matchup interesting, aren't they?

What is the point of playing Trouba? He is clearly hurt, slow as dirt, and just has egregious errors every game.

Is he ever going to be healthy if he just plays every game, so this is the version we have to watch for 60 more games or whatever we have left.

Having Trouba, Laf, and Trocheck out together on OT has to be one of the most laughable things I've witnessed all season.

It’s really not good right now. Hard to imagine what the fix will be for playing this carelessly. Flat out out worked by Ottawa tonight. Even if we had won in overtime, doesn’t matter, was still a shit performance. Don’t forget Ottawa had 2 goals disallowed. Shotty effort all around on a Friday night at the garden.

Winning goal on shesterkin too btw .. soft garbage - he looked Henrik softqoalqvist.

It has the feel of something that will resolve itself with the team "shutting him down" for a while. But we still have no clue what the actual injury is, or if it's that bad.

The Rangers have basically nothing from the AHL that I want to see, besides maybe the big oaf Harpur getting in fights and only for 5-10 games. But aside from Kravtsov we've had almost no injuries all year.

I'm not a Trouba hater but he has been embarrassing this season. Horrible in basically every facet of the game this season. Him playing banged up is ZERO excuse for his play.

I said it in the GDT but Schneider was better than him tonight and is better than him overall right now. If Trouba is so clearly limited by his injury why did Gallant and Gory Murphy go back to him late in the game and in OT? That is inexcusable. His clear attempt with 40 seconds left should be har out of the zone but instead it's easily blocked at the blue line for a shot where Trouba's man deflects the tying goal into the net. Putrid.

If Gallant insists that "Trouba won't let me not dress him" then him and Good Murphy (because apparently Gallant says that he doesn't control the D in game, Murphy does) NEED to shelter him. He shouldn't be out there late in the game and he shouldn't be out there in OT. Schneider was playing well, Trouba was playing like shit.

Trouba is the captain, did he even talk to the media after the game tonight? This guy is an embarrassment.

And another blown lead leading to a loss. Igor was fine for most of the game but we really need him to make that save in OT, especially after Talbot stopped Mika's breakaway (which Mika for some reason slowed up like it was a shootout and telegraphed his shot and waited to get it off until he was so close his shot had nowhere to go other than directly into Talbot's glove). It's not Igor's fault, he was good most of the game when the team wasn't but another late blown lead turns into a loss.

Just such an overall frustrating loss. Why can't this team win at MSG? They're 4-9 overall at home. WTF is that? Losses to San Jose, Columbus, Detroit and Ottawa at home. Wtf.

We're one Bedard away from being true contenders.
Bedard would come here and suddenly go to a potential franchise center to being a 3c with 12 minutes a game and no special teams ice time and we'd be sitting here in year 3 saying "Maybe he can be a Derek Stepan level player."

They had one goal disallowed. The second was never a good goal in the first place.

We really need a coach heavy on structure to give this era of the team an identity and a clear plan. They've never had that.

I don't want a head ass dinosaur but you can be a modern coach that still has a structure. Quinn was supposed to be that and he wasn't, but it still wasn't the right time for a hands-off coach like Gallant.

Hear Hear. Also, structure = Barry Trotz

I want an offensive minded structured coach. They are out there. Lookn at Toronto, look at Colorado.

I would love for the Rangers to find a Brian Daboll. He's an offensive-minded modern coach that's developed the few skill players the Giants have pretty well. He's gonna be a legend once the Giants give him some talent to work with.

At the same time, he has the team by the neck and everyone sticks to the gameplan.

You can do both.

This is a perfect example. St Louis seems to be finding something similar in MTL with the young talent there.

Well, that’s about as demoralizing a loss as you could have, especially at this point in the season.

The best thing is there is another game tomorrow.

And like, that’s it.
