I believe NHL.com goes off of season finish. And we were the last team standing.

Not quite, the schedule has the Kings third from last, then Sharks, then Ducks. Here is the calendar:

Now that I look at it, looks like it was arranged by teams in the division.

It's an embarrassment of riches over at Prohockeytalk. Two more Kings-related articles up. One asks if they can keep the scoring up. The other asks if Doughty is the best defenseman in the world.

That scoring article clearly wasn't written by a Kings fan

Yes and Yes.

I don't think people realize just how much more lethal the Kings offense is going to be this season.

Look at last years opening night lines compared to this seasons, it's not even close.

On Quick:

So just what kind of goalie is Quick?

Essentially he’s a wild card that has the benefit of having a great team surrounding him. If you ask the Rangers or Sharks about him, you might get an exasperated sigh built around missed chances and highlight-reel saves. Truth is, we may never seen him play as well as he did in 2011-12, but now he has the playoff résumé to do a lot of the talking for him.

Looking to make the leap: Brayden McNabb

The Kings lost Willie Mitchell to the Florida Panthers in free agency, potentially opening a spot in their top-six. According to those close to the team, McNabb will get every chance in training camp to win the job.

McNabb will have serious competition against veterans Robyn Regehr and Jeff Schultz, but even if he doesn’t win right away, we’ve seen what happens with young Kings players as the season winds down and the playoffs ramp up. With a heavy shot and a physical game, he could be paired with Slava Voynov at some point.

So… Which Jonathan Quick is the real one?

See above post from Kingsfan28 for quote. What do you think of the article? Does he have a point or is Quick underrated here? The team seems to have a tremendous amount of confidence in Quick.

Fanspeak: Gretzky voted best player in Kings franchise history

Here’s what the No. 2 guy on this list, Robitaille, said about Gretzky’s impact (per The Hockey News):

Here in L.A., Wayne is The Guy. He made us a respectable franchise. People became believers because of him. You talk to Drew Doughty, he’ll tell you he wanted to play for the Kings because he’d seen and heard about Gretzky.

We have a history and obviously there was Marcel Dionne, but Gretzky and that trade changed the NHL.
