(and yes, i will upload a high res image right before lunch break on TDL afternoon.)

Not my first choice, but unsurprising. A Lou favorite and Long Island native. To those saying “just trade him and re-sign him as a UFA”, that rarely ever happens. Once you hit the market, the $$$ are too tempting.

He’ll come in cheaper than his replacement would’ve cost this summer, still…he should have been moved, as well as Pageau, and one of Mayfield, Pulock, or Pelech (yes I know they have NTC/NMC).

Sigh, to be a fan of a perpetually bad to mid team.

Whatever Lou was in the past he now has to be considered one of the worst GMs in the history of the NHL with a move like this, when you look at where the Islanders are and what Palmieri could get in this sellers market it is beyond insane to bring him back, but I am guessing Lou has no respect for the Islanders and Kyle just wants to make alot of money while staying near his NY/NJ home and the Islanders are the vessel to make this happen

It's fine if it's 2y/10m total. He'll pot 25 the next two years and slot up and down as where needed.

I don't think he's getting a 1st in return and then what's the point? A 2nd in the 50's and a mediocre prospect (we already are tapped with those players)

Kyle wants to retire with the Isles it seems and if it’s a short term deal (2 years) for a normal AAV like what’s being reported, I don’t mind it. He’s on pace for another solid season goal-wise and doesn’t seem to be slowing down.

On top of being an all time great movie quote, "Leave the gun. Take the cannoli." is also a solid metaphor and one Lou might very well live by.

I fully grant the asset management argument(s). Yet, there's something refreshing IMHO about an accomplished (and still productive) veteran apparently wanting to close out his career on the Island. So I can't completely kill it.

That said- deal needs to get done- and it needs to be reasonable.
