Islanders' confidence builds during strong playoff run
"You're going to look," Okposo said after the Islanders' 4-2 win over the Lightning propelled his team to a 6-1-1 record in its last eight games and maintained the Isles' place among the playoff teams in the Eastern Conference. "When you're in the race, you definitely look. But we have a different feeling this year; we know if we play the way we need to play and win our games, we won't have to worry about what the other teams do."

Def a different feeling this year from the Fans perspective. The Playoffs feel like a real legit possibility....

The players have too feel that too.... Very exciting time to be an Islander(Fan & Player)

While reading the newsday article online, i noticed some troll called "mayhem" just ragging the **** out of the islanders in multiple comments below the article in the comments section. I then checked his recent activity and when he comments its only on islanders articles and all negative **** talking. Guy needs a life..

Found this part really interesting: 'Andrew MacDonald and Travis Hamonic, who were minus-14 and 15 at one point, are a plus-10 and plus-8 during the Islanders' 6-1-1 streak'

For this team to be in a playoff race is pretty big. I honestly didn't think they had it in them this year. This team is so poorly constructed for my taste, yet they keep chugging away. Their confidence should be riding high and if they can keep up the momentum, they could be a scary team come playoff time as they'd have nothing to lose.
