You can use a free vpn (Virtual Private Network) package with a connection / server out of Boston / East coast area. You might encounter a bit of lag on the radio, but nothing too bad. It pretty much pretends you connection is local, so hence you can get the game.

There is a bevy of free VPN programs, but I can assure you, paying for a vpn is money well spent. I am pretty sure you can try some of the main names for 30 days no hassle - but you need to make sure they have one in boston or around the surrounding area.

Try this: http://tunein.com/985thesportshub

I don't believe the website is region blocked so it should work if you want to listen to the games. If you aren't able to access that website, then I'm not so sure. Hopefully someone else can help.

thanks everyone... and i see now nhl app has a headset icon... when i click it all the game choices open up. so false alarm on my part.

i still must register my complaints over the redesigned nhl app and bruins app though. last years apps were so much better

No problem - seems to be universal disdain for the new app

pretty sure that's what they're fixing to force you to do. Rodgers paid 5.2 billion for the NHL rights, they're looking to make some money back.

ironically rogers gives nhl center ice free to their customers. i was a cell phone customer of theirs until june and i was getting center ice free at no additional charge... so i cant say they gouged me the last 2 years.

on the other hand i was paying nearly 100 dollars a month for my 6 gb of download data

im now able to get download data for free as a shaw customer where i work thanks to a nearby hotspot. i suppose with the free internet i could rationalize to pay for the hockey but since its an advertiser supported product, i do feel uncomfortable paying to watch it.

I'm with rogers for my cell phone and enjoy center ice, though I hardly consider it free.

i was on a 3 year contract when rogers acquired center ice... without changing my plan they just gave it to me. so in my case it was free. i was paying the same rate even without center ice

you might suggest the price for rogers would be cheaper without center ice... possibly thats true. but it is a value added service they give to all their customers and dont charge additional fee for it

i was grateful for it... but ultimately their charges for data usage priced me out of their company
