Is it really THAT IMPORTANT to wrap a Christmas or Birthday Gift?

Just got in a huge blow up because of this.

I honestly don't see the big deal if you don't.

Yea it's nice to have it wrapped but is it really that important? Especially as you get older?

1, a gift bag, etc, is basically the same effect. 2, it just is a waste of paper IMO, especially the medium size gifts or above.

From what I understand, Jesus's gifts may have been covered with hay but they weren't wrapped.

I mean it's getting the gift that counts, right?

I just reuse gift bags that I’ve gotten from previous gifts. Haven’t wrapped anything in years. I’ve given birthday gifts in grocery bags before. I don’t even own any wrapping paper.

Well, it's abundantly clear that most of you either don't have kids at all or have older kids, my guessing it's the former.

Now I feel old.
