McDavid is overrated, but he's still not as overrated as Matthews is. McDavid is the 2nd best center in hockey that gets called the best center in hockey by a lot of people. Matthews is a fringe top-10 center that gets called better than Nick Backstrom.

I know this is just a petty dumb thread because Leafs fans are mad that Oilers fans find Matthews overrated.

So are you now using this as a timely medium to bash Oiler fans, as it's now most convenient? (And let us not forget how so many Leafs fans were talking about McDavid at the time of the draft like they DESERVED him. Let us remember that insane talk of how McDavid "looked unhappy" when the Oilers won the 1st overall pick that year, because 'clearly he wants to play for the Leafs'. Get over it already, Leafs fans. Christ. Anyone who thinks this DIDN'T happen, explain what I'm wrong about. I live in Ontario. I was born just outside of Toronto. I hear all the Toronto media, everyday; I don't miss much of the "content" they broadcast and propagate.)

Points/60 alone isn't a good stat to judge players on, though. Connor Sheary had the highest points/60 in the NHL last year I believe, but people still scream about him being a product of Crosby. The stats posted by the OP are mostly irrelevant, at least when comparing McDavid to guys like Crosby and Malkin. If you were comparing a guy who gets 2nd line minutes to a guy who gets 4th line minutes, I think that's more valid.

Nobody who wins the Art Ross, Lindsay, and Hart as a 19/20-year-old in their second season is overrated.

There's only two other players in the history of the NHL who have done that. One is Wayne Gretzky, the other is Sidney Crosby.

McDavid has done basically everything that could be expected of him in really just a season and a half (turned the Oilers from the worst NHL franchise the last decade into a 100+ point team as well that was a game away from the Conference Finals).
