Hasek, Richter and Craig but not necessarily in that order.

Craig's defense Corp was missing Langway, Roberts and Dunn who were Craig's contemporaries who had same birth years as Craig and were 3 of the top 5 USA dmen NCAA Colleges aged who were in the NHL already.

The US iced 3 D men that played over 200 NHL games each in Ramsey, Morrow and O'Callahan. Suter barely played and Christian wasn't even a dman. His shutdown center was Mark Wells!!!

One of the interesting things about the US Team was that they were missing what would have been 3 of their top 6 D (Langway, Roberts, Dunn) plus 3 of their top
4 RW in Joe Mullen,Tom Gorence. and Chris Nilan.

The only moment since Hasek's heroics in '98 that made waves citywide was selection Saturday for the 2002 Olympic team. The air was palpably electric. The malls stalled. (This was pre-smartphone; internet cafes were a block away)
