Now that the teams are being announced for the upcoming World Cup of hockey, I'm wondering what would be the best hockey team that Earth could ice against a team from an alien civilization that challenges us for intergalactic hockey supremacy. I'm assuming that such aliens would be similar, human-sized, oxygen-breathing, carbon based life-forms that happen to play ice hockey. Apparently the Jupiter moon Europa is covered with ice, so maybe they play hockey there, but I digress...

Anyway, here's my team:

I personally find it hard to believe Paul Kariya and Derian Hatcher are among the best hockey players on the planet. At one time Kariya would have been a great choice but that was a couple of years ago and he's dropped of a lot since then. Hatcher never, ever, deserved a spot on the world's best players list. Never has, never will.
