Now that the teams are being announced for the upcoming World Cup of hockey, I'm wondering what would be the best hockey team that Earth could ice against a team from an alien civilization that challenges us for intergalactic hockey supremacy. I'm assuming that such aliens would be similar, human-sized, oxygen-breathing, carbon based life-forms that happen to play ice hockey. Apparently the Jupiter moon Europa is covered with ice, so maybe they play hockey there, but I digress...
Anyway, here's my team:
Forwards
St. Louis Sakic Iginla
Naslund Forsberg Bertuzzi (assuming the NHL/UN will let him play)
Thornton Lemieux Jagr
Heatley Sundin Kovalchuk
Elias
Defence
Lidstrom Chara
Niedermayer Pronger
Hatcher Leetch
Gonchar
Goal
Brodueur
Luongo
Kiprusoff
GO EARTH GO!!!
