I'm not really bothered by plasticy logos or sweater materials that aren't true to what the players wear. I'm just looking for a jersey that gets our logo right. My question is is the logo correct or incorrect on the new jerseys IRL or did fanatics just leave off those details in the online mockup? The quality of the materials shouldn't ever change any part of the logo. It should be the exact same logo regardless of whether it's embroidered or printed.
Oh wow. Now, I am certainly not an expert on this, so please don't take my word for it... But it sure seems like it's a quality downgrade on the Breakaway jerseys this season.
Looking at the NHL.com shop, ALL the men's Breakaway CBJ jerseys have the "wrong" logo as in your picture example. ALL the women's have the "correct" logo. ALL the premium ones have the correct logo.
I have a Laine Breakaway jersey from 1.5 years ago. It has the correct logo, I just checked. I cannot remember how the picture looked on the website but given how the logo is consistently wrong in the men's Breakaway models this year, I would be very cautious about chalking it up to just an image error on the website... This is Fanatics after all.
Some of the other teams seem to have some tiny tiny differences too, but nothing as blatant as the CBJ one. (Predators looks like it's a bit truncated on the Breakaways, Penguins one has almost no visible white on the left glove thumb, but maybe these could be just the angles of the photos, or about the techniques and colors.)
Something so obvious might be visible in some crowd photos taken this year at Nationwide, or maybe you can find pictures of the Blue Line Store if they sell the same ones? Answering my own question: Blue Line has the same jerseys, and consistently the men's Breakaway jerseys are missing those logo parts. I couldn't find my way around the internet to find any proper crowd pictures or closeups from the Blue Line store.
Maybe call the Blue Line store?
