Inline skates for commuting around the streets!

I am an ice hockey goalie. I want inline skates to cruise with my buds. I want goalie skates because I am used to them and find them comfortable and I am a good skater with them. Are there any inline goalie skates that I can cruise around with? Or do I have to buy normal skates?

You would do well with simply a fitness style inline skate, that could perhaps be a little lower cut. No need to buy specific goalies inline skates for roller hockey.

They do make inline goalie skates. Not sure what the point of using such equipment on the streets while actually skating would be, though. I'd figure they'd be more annoying than anything for regular skating.

A regular fitness style skate would be great, even upgrade the wheels and bearings and you're totally set for everything. Nothing wrong w/them especially if they're just for skating around. Hell, I used to play competitive inline hockey in a plastic pair of fitness skates w/upgraded hardware, and I would outskate anybody (and most of them while I was going backwards, at that).

I just started playing inline goalie, after years of playing ice. One big reason I wouldn't cruise around town in goalie inline skates is that they have much smaller wheels than player or fitness skates. They wouldn't roll over bumps and rocks very well.

(Though I wouldn't play ice goalie in player skates, I didn't bother buying goalie inline skates to play inline, because for a newbie they are very expensive. I found a pair of gently used players skates at Play It Again for $50, put goalie wheels on them, and don't use the top eyelet when lacing up.)

Exactly, you could change the wheels (diameter and such) on most inline skates to adjust to the 'feel' of your goalie boots.

Ones with an outdoor durometer (hardness) of at least 80A. I think all fitness style skates come with them. You can play around with different wheel diameters but you'll have to buy them separately as the skates I've seen all have uniform wheels. You'll likely be good with whatever comes stock.

How would the K2 F.I.T 80 skates work?

I have some K2 Exo that I bought before I even started playing hockey. They work great for me. Since I play indoors, I only wear my hockey skates at the rink. I use my K2s whenever I am going to just skate around outside or skate to work.
