of an nhl team that was so "180" in their approach to team building vs how they played in the nhl? I cannot think of any former player turned president that has ever been so different- tough player to soft players/coaches/gm he hires.... its unreal actually. Both dubas/shany gotta be gone this year. You know for sure they will not win one damn round again!

5 years ago with the core we had/have you were to say this leafs team would not sniff even one round 2? lol

shanny is doing what a president is supposed to do. Let the GM of his team operate the hockey side and trust the GM to make decisions. Too many presidents get way too involved. Shanny has done good things as the president, he’s revitalized the alumni, community engagement with the leafs is better, the leafs are a more diverse organization. He’s taking care of the business side which is his main role.

I do think maybe after this year he might need to have more input but I respect that he’s trusting his GM

Tough competition means valuable league revenue, so we can be enjoying the game for years to come.

This is how Shanny has always been .. you never know with Shanny what he is gonna do as he often did things out of norm .. and he is very very quiet like his da dad was

Shanahan was definitely one of the game's premier power forwards during his playing days. Fair to say that the game has changed in some ways since then though. I can only hope that the team has a few HOFers in its future similar to its President.

Why is this even a thread?

Bring back hard-nosed Lou and Babs who accomplished exactly the same thing!
