In Buffalo, it is time.

They’ve already spent the last 2-3 years riding it out. The Sabres were in a great spot to be really aggressive and make moves to improve the roster and be better. Instead they sat on their hands and did jack shit
The added Zucker, Mcleod, and Malenstyn...

Years ago some people were saying the core was rotten ..Those people got their wish when they moved Eichel, Reinhart, Risto, Ullmark, and O'Reilly.....

Not to mention all the coaching changes in recent years there..........

My point is that they tried everything and already exausted all those options.....Just leave it all alone now and let some continuity start to build......

And in a season and a half Dahlin, Thompson, and Power all ask for trades because they team isn't doing anything to try and improve. You talk about how we got our wishes when the previous core was moved? O'Reilly, Eichel, and Reinhart asked to be traded. Ullmark rejected the same offer from Buffalo to go to Boston. You are pretending like we forced these guys out. They wanted to leave because they'd had enough of this shit organization.

They can't just sit on their hands for a 15th, 16th, and 17th season of missed playoffs. If Pegula isn't gone then they need to gut the management from top to bottom, hire a seasoned president who is allowed to build it from the ground up without interference, and a GM needs to be allowed to build their roster without interference.

If they sit on their hands again and again and miss for the next 2 years the franchise will be gone. It's already irreparably damaged with an entire generation of fans lost. And no, Mcleod, Zucker, and Malenstyn are not good enough adds. The entire sabres board was clamouring all summer to add a top 4 RHD to play with Power, and a top 6 F. Neither were added and would you look at that, the exact things they could really have used this season were a RHD to play with Power and a top 6 F. But it's okay because we used a 2nd on Malenstyn to play 8 minutes and night and hit 3 people. Huge add there.

I don't mean to sound testy but it gets really annoying seeing a bunch of people who clearly don't understand the situation and don't follow the team, misrepresent what has happened in the past and act like they know a sure fire way to fix it. Sitting on their hands for another three years? Why? So these guys can become even more demoralized and then head to greener pastures? Will we be accused to driving them out as well after they all ask for trades?

Phoenix lost the Coyotes because they literally had no place to play ala the Thrashers. Bettman would sooner cut off his cock on live TV with a rusty razor than allow a relocation because it would be the same as taking billions of dollars in expansion fees and burning it in a giant pile.
Quite a vivid mental picture you painted for us there, thanks for that

They fell for every single trap.

Pegula
Murray
Nolan
Botterill
Bylsma
Housley
Krueger
Adams
Eichel is the problem
Granato
Ruff

Ive been told every single one is an improvement and the way forward all while bashing their players and defending a toxic culture.

Lafontaine on the way out said something along the lines of "This team will never go anywhere with Pegula leading" and everyone ignored him and said see ya bye. The Sabres fanbase doesnt deserve this but they blindly supported every move. Stop buying tickets! Stop watching games! This reminds me of the Rockies.

Lafontaine never said that

Lafontaine never said that
In 2014, Pat LaFontaine, who had briefly served as the Sabres' President of Hockey Operations, made a statement that reflected his belief that the team was in trouble under the leadership of the Pegulas. He said:

"With the current situation, we are never going to win. It's as simple as that."

Yeah I wouldn't provide a source either.

Trusting google only is your first problem. It apparently came in his resignation press conference in 2014. I certainly didnt make it up or maybe someone quoted it wrong, but supposedly it was out there from his mouth or from someone who spoke to him.

Where is this quote????? .. Chat GPT? ..

He didn't have a press conference... he put out a statement.

And it is widely reported that there was a NDA signed prior to his employment.

You are full of shit.

"I'm proud of what we've been able to accomplish in a short period of time, and want to thank Terry and Kim Pegula for the opportunity and their support during my time with the Sabres."

See how sources work?

outsider opinion, i agree your overdue to be a playoff team. i like plenty of your players. i'd start with getting some new scouts / draft team. possibly upgrade goaltending. maybe upgrade weak links on D and forwards. where theres a will theres a way. goodluck. ps i was a huge hasek fan and rooting 4u to beat dallas in 99.

Usually you guys come out on the main boards to gloat after a hot start then the team crashes down hard.

I think this thread is an excellent reverse jinx strategy, I'm willing to bet now the Sabres will make the playoffs just because of it.

lmao those threads have never been made by Sabres fans.

How many 2022 drafted players are playing in the NHL everyday? I dont think Savoie is good but the bolded isn’t true.
The 2022 class has not been very good. Only three players have more than 10 goals in their career. For reference 2023 class already has 5 players with 10 or more goals in their career.

You still haven't posted the quote. I am interested to see it. You attack google post 5 times yet still no source. Your misdirection isn't working.

What is your point of arguing? Are you Terry here trying to defend yourself? Maybe he said it to someone and it was lost in translation. I dont know. It has been posted here multiple times by others and I obviously copied that from the magical internet somewhere. Im spreading what I heard.

I could not care less about the loser Sabres and their dying city. Give the franchise to a real market. Terry is selling off the Bills piece by piece. The Sabres are next.

My point of arguing with you spreading false information?

You're a piece of work.

You obviously care enough to Chat GPT a fake quote.
