The added Zucker, Mcleod, and Malenstyn...
Years ago some people were saying the core was rotten ..Those people got their wish when they moved Eichel, Reinhart, Risto, Ullmark, and O'Reilly.....
Not to mention all the coaching changes in recent years there..........
My point is that they tried everything and already exausted all those options.....Just leave it all alone now and let some continuity start to build......
And in a season and a half Dahlin, Thompson, and Power all ask for trades because they team isn't doing anything to try and improve. You talk about how we got our wishes when the previous core was moved? O'Reilly, Eichel, and Reinhart asked to be traded. Ullmark rejected the same offer from Buffalo to go to Boston. You are pretending like we forced these guys out. They wanted to leave because they'd had enough of this shit organization.
They can't just sit on their hands for a 15th, 16th, and 17th season of missed playoffs. If Pegula isn't gone then they need to gut the management from top to bottom, hire a seasoned president who is allowed to build it from the ground up without interference, and a GM needs to be allowed to build their roster without interference.
If they sit on their hands again and again and miss for the next 2 years the franchise will be gone. It's already irreparably damaged with an entire generation of fans lost. And no, Mcleod, Zucker, and Malenstyn are not good enough adds. The entire sabres board was clamouring all summer to add a top 4 RHD to play with Power, and a top 6 F. Neither were added and would you look at that, the exact things they could really have used this season were a RHD to play with Power and a top 6 F. But it's okay because we used a 2nd on Malenstyn to play 8 minutes and night and hit 3 people. Huge add there.
I don't mean to sound testy but it gets really annoying seeing a bunch of people who clearly don't understand the situation and don't follow the team, misrepresent what has happened in the past and act like they know a sure fire way to fix it. Sitting on their hands for another three years? Why? So these guys can become even more demoralized and then head to greener pastures? Will we be accused to driving them out as well after they all ask for trades?
