You thread title say team canada but you write about team russia.

Why not make this thread about all nations so we can speculate.

Team Sweden with the current NHL-Standings:

Daniel Sedin - Henrik Sedin - Loui Eriksson
Linus Omark - Henrik Zetterberg - Gustav Nyquist
Filip Forsberg - Victor Rask - Elias Lindholm
Gabriel Landeskog - Carl Söderberg - Viktor Arvidsson

Victor Hedman - Anton Strålman
Oliver Ekman Larsson - Mattias Ekholm
Johnny Oduya - John Klingberg

Robin Lehner
Jacob Markström

I want us to go with full NHL-squad + Omark.

I don't think the Sedins will ever play whc again. Most of the players will be from shl or other European leagues.

I agree with you though, full NHL-squad would be better even with players currently in the ahl because most of the players over here isn't good enough. Maybe with the exception for Moller and Lindström and a few others.

Team Finland:

Laine - Barkov - Aho
Rantanen - Teräväinen - Armia
Hartikainen - Aaltonen - Haapala
Komarov - Lajunen - Granlund

Lindell - Ristolainen
Lepistö - Koivisto
Jokipakka - Honka

Team Finland in 2017 IIHF men's worlds

1st line Laine Barkov Puljujärvi ( If Jesse plays whole end season in AHL and Edmonton won't call him up NHL playoffs)
Lindell Ristolainen

2nd line Aho Teräväinen Rantanen
Lepistö Hietanen

3rd line Jokinen Ma Granlund Armia
N Mikkola Jokipakka

4th line Savinainen T Sallinen Komarov ( Is Komarov really retired to Team Finland. I don't think so)
13th forward Miro Aaltonen / Henrik Haapala
7 defenceman Lasse Kukkonen

Goalies
Koskinen
Rinne
Lankinen ( Lankinen has been really good in HIFK this season and he deserves fair chance to show what he's got and make world championships roster. Sorry Saros).

Notice THIS IS ONLY SPECULATION.

Trying to be as realistic as possible,

Centers:

Auston Matthews
Tyler Johnson
Vincent Trochek
Colin White
Andrew Copp

Matthews is questionable since he played last year, but I'm taking a risk. I think Eichel has zero chance as he'll want to rest his ankle. Johnson and Trochek are repeat players from four years ago so always unlikely, but I'll be optimistic. Probably will end up being some random Finnish leaguer but I'll take my chances with this pick.

Wings

Kyle Palmieri
Anders Lee
Derek Ryan
Jack Roslovic
Shane Prince
Christian Dvorak
Clayton Keller
Kyle Connor
Matt Nieto

Palmieri is a risk as a WC alum but hopefully six years has made the heart grow fonder. Anders Lee, played three years so probably a reach. Ryan seems like the perfect guy to pick for this team. Played abroad for numerous years, has never played for USA hockey so he might like the Worlds. Shane Prince, seems like an ideal candidate for this team. Worlds rookie. Dvorak seems a likely choice. Young, impressionable. Willing to endure the indentured servitude of a year at the worlds haha. Kyle Connor seems like a ideal impact prospect that we usually get one of each tournament. Nieto is fast and doesn't have any plans for May. Throw in some gold medal world junior fillers.

Defense

Jake Gardiner
Nick Leddy
Jacob Slavin
Noah Hanifin
Anthony DeAngelo
John Moore
Charlie McAvoy

Jake Gardiner, because why not. Maybe he accepts. He'd be a great addition based on this season. Leddy, too often busy winning stanley cups with chicago, he now has the chance to get his first Worlds in. Slavin is having a decent year, hasn't done his time yet. Get it over with son! Come on Noah, return for another go around. You can be the next Jack Johnson, hey wait why are you not answering my calls anymore? I doubt this pick since he did his time, twice, but I can hope. John Moore, welcome back. Please pleas pretty please?

Goalies

Conor Hellebuyck
Keith Kinkaid
Tyler Parsons

Hellebuyck probably won't go, but I'm going to dream someone kidnaps him and smuggles him unwillingly into the Koln arena. Tyler Parsons gets the honorary participation trophy.

Denmark.

Nikolaj Ehlers - Frans Nielsen - Jannik Hansen
Nicklas Jensen - Peter Regin - Oliver Bjorkstrand
Frederik Storm - Jesper Jensen - Nichlas Hardt
Morten Madsen - Mads Christensen - Morten H Poulsen

Jesper B Jensen - Oliver Lauridsen
Stefan Lassen - Philip Larsen
Markus Lauridsen - Emil Kristensen

Frederik Andersen
Patrick Galbraith

Do not be such a composition. Again like vproshlom year will be young players from the NHL, AHL and the NCAA

Optimsitic thinking but still only with player that are not in the nhl playoff spot right now (that includes no ahl players that belong to a NHL club in a playoff spot, so no Heed etc), plus no players that will obviously say no, like the sedins and zetterberg.

Nyquist - Rask - Eriksson
Landeskog - Söderberg - Omark
Lindblom - Lindholm - A Nylander
Everberg - J Larsson - Lindström
Sundström - Klasen

Hedman - Klingberg
OEL - Oduya
Strålman - Aho
Nygren - Tömmernes
