It’s a debate for Habs fans. KK has greatly improved his strength and skating over the break and was our best forward against Pittsburgh. If you’re interested, watch the Habs series against Philly, KK is looking amazing.

We absolutely have the pieces. Caufield and Romanov are top 10 prospects in hockey. We also have a ton of picks and two 1Cs in the making in Suzuki and KK. That isn’t even mentioning guys like Domi and Poehling...

No it has to be Suzuki because it would have to hurt. KK has looked great this return to play but any offer would start with Suzuki your first Romanov and probably another first next year and the Rangers would still need to decline. Most Habs fans have KK/Suzuki neck and neck, to me they have similar value. But if it’s Suzuki you covet, so be it. 1 of them, Romanov, and our 1st seems like a good baseline. Elite assets tend to go for 3 great pieces and that’s that. A throw in sweetens it since the 1st is a mid first.

Nah, zero chance any combo of those pieces tempt the Rangers to move Laf. There is 0% chance that the Habs can or will trade for Laf.

Ehh, an offer like that would definitely tempt me, but probably still ultimately lean towards the no side.

Except we have an army of young defensemen. And an actual goaltender. Not to mention veteran leadership. The Oilers had none of those things.

We have
Nils Lundkist, one of the best young swedish offensive defensemen in the SHL
K'Andre Miller who still needs to cook some more but has insane physical tools
Zac Jones who is a puck moving machine
Matt Robertson who is strong and powerful stay at home defenseman to balance out all those puck movers
There is Lindgren who is a feisty stay at home defender who plays well with Adam Fox
And some people have given up on Libor HAJEK, but he is young still
I forgot Skinner another puck mover
We have a second round pick and a high second. I guarantee one of those will be a defenseman.
There is also the russian dman yegor rykov

What we need is bottom 6 players with speed. Or a fourthline that isnt pathetic. All the depth will push good young players down to the third line. Some people say we need a 2 center. I think Chytil is that player, what we need is a true defensive center who wins faceoffs.

And we need time and experience, I'd add.

I get it, your fan base is on a high right now after the lottery win. But in reality everyone’s available and we have the assets and desire to get the player. Don’t be shocked if a godfather offer comes in, and it’s something like KK, Romanov, a 1st and Poehling- a deal any reasonable GM would consider.
