In a game of FHM, I ended up with Laf, Byfeld, Stuzle and Raymond. Loved my forward code with Kakko, Hughes and Svech. The end of those ELCs created a cap nightmare though.Rangers: Win the 1st overall for the first time in team history!
Also Rangers: Pass on the best player in the draft.
No thanks. You draft Lafreniere without even thinking about it. And no, picks 3+5 don’t cut it for me.

I’d say better than LaineSo how does Lafreniere project? Are we talking Ovechkin level or more like Laine level? (Playing styles aside)
those years most ppl would say at the time that the 1st overall pick that year was not a slam dunk tho. laf clearly is this year. ekblad was probably the most sure fire 1st overall, but the 2014 class wasnt highly rated at the top. draisatl far and away outpaced his projections.Yes to 2011, 2012, 2014 & 2017.
2019 TBD
He's such a different player thoughI’d say better than Laine

Yeah, but in the post I quoted he said playing styles aside, so I'm just saying I think he's going to be in a tier of player above LaineHe's such a different player though

So how does Lafreniere project? Are we talking Ovechkin level or more like Laine level? (Playing styles aside)
yeah but their projections and what they have done have been pretty accurate. 3 and 5 is good in a down year for 1 overall. 1 overall is much better if 1st overall is a projected superstar with little downside.I was purely going off what they have done, not their projections at the time.
Kubalik and Dach kinda thing? Or is this guy that much of a slam dunk 90+ player?Always go BPA which is Lafreniefe. Also, with the clear gap between #1 and the rest any talk of trading down is nonsense.
IF we win the lottery and trade Lafreniefe for youth in a position of need (we shouldn’t do this anyway) we should only move him for an outstanding young player that’s further along in development and more of a safe bet. Not other top 5 or 10 draft picks.

Negatory, especially since I think Byfield gets scooped up at 2 by LA.Sens fan coming in peace. Larry Brooks think if Rangers win the lottery. Rangers interested by Byfield. The 3 and 5 are you interested for the first
I would not be, but it seems like a few Ranger fans would be, so not crazy I guess?Sens fan coming in peace. Larry Brooks think if Rangers win the lottery. Rangers interested by Byfield. The 3 and 5 are you interested for the first
Please let us win the lottery. Would be amazing for us.In a nutshell: Best junior player coming out of the Q since Crosby (that includes the other 1OA pick MacKinnon). Only player to win CHL player of the year twice in a row also since Crosby.
Extremely high hockey sense, no visible weakness, highly competitive, can play a heavy game. Franchise player with a very high floor. Future team captain.
Meh, I’m not impressed. But add in Hubert Labrie and it’s a deal.if Ottawa calls and offers up picks 3 and 5, I'd really have to give that some serious consideration.
