Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. But they can put more advertisements in those emails. So it works and they get more $$. The whole site is one big advertisement these days. Even the ad blocker can't stop them all.

Can I ask what this refers to? I use ad blockers and as a "sponsor" I don't seem to see anything at all.

Yeah, got that from your first post. In fact I seem to remember this being a thing a while back, I might have even gotten a few emails, I don't remember exactly. So much changed when Mandatory took over.

Once they stepped up and fixed the crashing during the TDL, I stepped up and paid my $12. Call me old school, but I believe one should pay for value. (A lot of trouble in the wold today is caused by services that got away from this concept over the last 20 years, and have since had to figure out how to make money in other ways...)

I wanted to pay those $12 and was having issues so I never did.

I'm with you, here, though I would argue that under no circumstance should an email ever be "opt-out" for existing members, where you're automatically enrolled. We all know Mandatory wants to make more money off this, hence the switch to Xenforo with its "content-sharing-friendliness" and likes system to keep driving traffic, but those f***ers don't even advertise this board on their own site.
