Just a hunch. Why do I say this? Because I feel Edmonton will sell while the iron it hot. He cracked 104 points this year, and even though half of them were on the powerplay I think there would still be a team that bites on it. Even though he never had 70 points before this season.

I believe he does not have a no-trade clause and that he has a very friendly contract for the team. I think he is the classic case of "sell high" and this is what I think will happen. He isn't a 104 point guy, and even if other teams know this I still think there is a place where he can be a #1 centre. Edmonton needs a change, they have to do something different, and you aren't getting rid of the two-headed monster, so why not the best 3rd line centre in the NHL?

He has full NMC that runs thru entire contract

GMs can be stupid, but I guarantee none of them see RNH as anything close to 100 point player value and his roll on arguably the best PP of all time makes him more valuable to Edmonton than anyone else. Without the NMC I can see the idea behind trying to maximize value in a shake up move, but I can’t see a deal getting any traction.

What would be the win of it? A top6 planer will be gone. Yamamoto is the one Who should go.

Why on earth would Edmonton be moving one of the few players who's actually been able to get something done? They should instead be moving the numerous players who are not doing much of anything.

He literally has a full no trade clause and has spent his entire career in Edmonton
Signed a sweet heart deal to stay as well.

He deserves that NMC

If he does get traded or asked to waive I imagine he asks for only 1 or 2 teams. Then possibly also ensures they do not give up too much on the roster to ensure a possible Cup win. Seriously

I agree with you in theory. He's not a player I'm inclined to trust in big playoff games. The point totals look great this year , so I wonder if they can leverage that into a sweet return.

He's a decent, soft 70 point player on any other team and will be viewed as such.

Soft? He's beaten the wheels off of guys for less.

Nuge took a big discount to stay in Edmonton and just had a career year. His playoffs weren't what we were hoping for but virtually no return for him would make sense for us since he very much outplayed his cap hit.

I predict RNH retires as an Oiler and moves into the front office at some point. Makes no sense to trade him. Who could the Oilers get at $5 million that improves the team? Not many players like that out there.

Just because he won 1 fight against a softer plug does not make him not soft. He plays the game soft. He's a good power play guy and has skill but let's be real. He would be a Jonathan Huberdeau on any other team.

No he doesn't.

What you mean is he's not physical. Which I'll agree with. But he doesn't shy away from the tough areas on the ice at all.

I'd think the odds of him being traded over the life of the contract are below 10% let alone, not even halfway through it.

Outside of the big 2, RNH is probably the best contract for production the team has. You move Hyman, or hope someone would take Kane before you even think of trading RNH
