Stay on topic, Satan.

Sometimes I feel like you just like saying the word "meme", without addressing the topic at hand.

Which, in this case, is the coffee industry and its' grasp on society.

Typical "cool" loungers trying so hard to be hip while we have a good video here to discuss. I agree with the video. I always wonder why people like coffee. It smells bad and people who drink it have terrible breath.

Video is gud. Coffee sucks.

What did it take for you guys to get interested in coffee? Im 34 and find coffee to have a nasty taste. I dont know why maybe I have to do a big taste test and line up a bunch of small cups of coffees with different mixes and see which one I like if any.

I didn't much care for the taste either, until I was in my 20's.

I can't say I drink it on a daily basis, but there are some mornings where it just works wonders.

Try it with sugar, or milk, or cream, and see if that helps.

Assuming you're a beer drinker I feel there's a close comparison. Did you like your first beer? I certainly didn't. Now I'm borderline snobby with my beer drinking.

Coffee is the same way. I'm not sure anybody loves it the first time but the love....it comes fast and hard once you get into it.

Flavoured coffee drinks (especially Tim's cafe mocha) were my gateway drug into coffee. Once you've had coffee with a ton of sugar, it's an easy transition to a double-double. Not to mention the peer pressure that came with having friends who hung out exclusively at Denny's (when you could smoke inside) or Tim Horton's (when you couldn't smoke in Denny's anymore).

I had a bit of an epiphany on vacation last year when I went five days without coffee, and didn't even realize it (I wasn't even getting the withdrawal headaches that I usually get mid-afternoon on days when I don't drink coffee). I was so engaged with what I was doing that I didn't need coffee to feel awake, which is part of what has started me down a path that I hope will take me to a career that doesn't involve sitting in a cubicle, where you need to be chemically awake to get anything done.
