Ahh, but he was trained how to take slashes to the ankles by Tomas Holmström. Check. Mate.Does his skates touch the ice? If so, his ankles would get destroyed by slashes within a season.

If he was 280 pounds the opposition wouldn't need to stop him, he'd be gassed by the start of the 2nd.
A better description of the mega star would be take Connor McDavid's speed, vision, skillset, basically everything, and add Ovechkin's one-timer, Barkov's defensive ability and hits like Scott Stevens.
Then put him on Buffalo and maybe they make the playoffs.
Okay, that last bit was unnecessary.
Get back to me when this happens as this is stuff I don't worry about at all as I'm too busy thinking about a mid 50s guy who becomes the oldest rookie ever to lead my Canucks to the SC.......Premature off season thread maybe, but the thought popped a couple of times in my mind and I wanted to gather the opinions of you guys.
What would happen if the NHL witnessed the coming of a mega star, I’m talking about the guy who racks up 8-10 points a night, 7 feet tall 280 behemoth that can’t be hurt by the opposition so you can’t stop him. The type of monster you created in EA NHL when you first started playing. After 5 Stanley Cup in a row won exclusively because of him, would the league intervene to nerf this guy?
Your opinion is crucial on this.
You seem aggressively mad about this topic for some reason. It's a simple "what if?" scenario, take it easy! This isn’t out of the ordinary, this is patently ridiculous, if it was some sort of philosophic thought exercise with a purpose, sure, but it’s pure ridiculous fantasy, not “out of the ordinary.”
Gretzky didn’t even average 2 points per game, you’re saying to 4x or 5x the greatest player in history.
You call me dense for pointing out the absurdity of your scenario, but you don’t seem to understand you’re not pitching something that could possibly happen in reality.
Do you actually think something like this is possible, or you simply want people to join you in a pure fantasy scenario?
It's our turn; the Oilers got the most recent generational center. At first we must clear one point. Will he play for Edmonton Oilers or for Pittsburgh Penguins?

I was going to say that I think I saw this exact scenario in The Incredible Hulk #197.
Dustin Rose could. How could a 7 foot tall, 280 lb. player put up that many points in a night??
I feel like they’d be slow as hell…
If I was a coach, I'd hire an ex con to sneak into the game disguised as a 4th liner and have him deliver a career ending injury to the guy. I'd make sure there were 4-5 guys buffered in between so it could never be pinned back to me. Then a few days before I was about to die, I'd confess to the world what I'd done and ride off into the sunset.
