Rutherford, when speaking to reporters in Pittsburgh, went well beyond implying that the Jackets benched Jack Johnson toward the end of the season for non-hockey reasons. Rutherford said, “He was a healthy scratch at the end of the season. I know the reason why. It wasn’t because of how he was playing.”

I´m not sure if this is acceptable at this time of the year, at home, against the divisional opponent and after a loss where they blew the 2-goal lead. Not sure.

This is the thing for me as well.
After 2 days rest too.

They gotta get up for these games.
It's been a constant problem.
I don't care who's dressing.

ETA: They looked up for it at the start a little bit but one failed PP and it breaks them...

Pens played a really good first period, but can't score.

Then Carolina comes down at the end of the period and fires a long wrist shot that Murray whiffs on.

That goal just takes all the life and energy away from the Pens.

It could of easily been 2-0 or 3-0 in the first period for the Pens.

If you are deflated by one goal against a bubble team you f***ing suck.

Woof...

Of all the issues tonight. I really feel the defense is issue #1.

After Letang Dumo, it's a f***ing train wreck.

Johnson is God awful. Such a dumb player, and every partner he has he makes worse.

Maatta is so slow, and for how smart we know he can be, he has made some pretty dumb f***ing passes and decisions...

Petts and Riikola are going to have growing pains and wtf moments as they develope. So I'm not suprised. But Petts started off solid now coming back to earth sucks for us.

thats not what Mike Rupp just said

Apparently he thinks they were just one step behind. What a hack. Anyone watching can see the penguins got absolutely embarrassed in every single area of the game.
But you can't say that as a paid pro-penguin caller.

I really don’t think these problems are effort...I mean maybe the third period when they realized they weren’t getting anywhere...

We should be playing like CAR but we’re just not good enough...I don’t want us to try, try again and give up more assets...certainly not our first...we might not correct this this year...if we miss the POs, we’ll get a nice lottery pick and that’s a nice start...

Yeah.. Murray was quite easily outplayed by McElhinney. That can't happen.

To add to this...
They looked up for it at the start a little bit but one failed PP and it broke any resolve they had...

I'm not sure how Geno centering Simon-Horny and Schultz being anchored with Maatta or Johnson moves the needle anywhere nearly enough.

It is what it is at this point.
Not much JR can do to change this now at this DL.

If I am JR I immediately start looking to upgrade the D I'd he hasnt already.

Getting Schultz back will help but hes been gone so long and with his type of injury it might take him a while to get back into it.

One of Johnson or Maatta has to go.

Package up the 1st add Jarry if you must and send it out for a #3 dman.

I'd prefer JJ be the one shot into space but I just see it being Maatta.
