Hull/Gretzky/Howe vs Ovechkin/Lemieux/Jagr

Which line would you take all healthy and at their best?

Gretzky alone cant carry those two bums. Ovie and Jagr are alltime greats. Where as Howe and Hull and hugely overrated.

Guys who had their peak against accountants, farmers and village drunks shouldnt be considered for anything these days. All you needed was some decent talent and not to turn up to the games drunk.

No real reason not to pick the Gretzky line.

Since this is peak - you can certainly argue Lemieux ~ Gretzky - but the easier argument is usually Gretzky > Lemieux
You can also easily argue Ovechkin ~ Hull. This one's probably close either way for peak or prime.
Jagr's peak was insane. I think Howe's peak gets slightly overrated at times. So maaaaybe - you can even go as far as to argue Jagr ~ Howe for peak, though to me the much more obvious case is Howe > Jagr for peak, not a huge edge but one nonetheless.

So best case scenario - group 2 comes close to group 1. I see no case at all to say they're better. It's a much easier case to see why group 1 would be better though. I even think that chemistry-wise, group 1 would do better. So I pick them.

Gretzky = Lemieux
Jagr is a tad worse than Howe
Bobby Hull is a tad worse than Ovi

The thing is, the make up of the Gretzky line is amazing, while the Mario line, not so much. On the PP though, it would be the best line ever.

people sometimes look too much at individuals rather than how a specific line will play together. I think that O-L-J will be a better and more dangerous line in a real game than the first one.

Howe was a mean sob. He would dominate physically over the other trio.

Hull = Ovechkin
Gretzky >= Lemieux
Howe >> Jagr

2 of the big 4 on 1 line make it unfair.

You're seriously underrating Jagr's peak. He has a very strong argument to have the highest offensive peak outside of the big 4. I agree he's behind Howe - but I don't think it's a huge amount tbh.
