We were top half of the league on the PK last year at a hair over 80%, this year we are 2nd last at 73% and it’s killing us.

6 of our top 9 PK players by TOI/game are either gone or mostly out of the lineup.

Hamonic, Holden Zaitsev, Watson, Motte, Gambrell.

Sanderson, Kelly and Joseph are the ones who remain.

We desperately need to find some D who can PK and add another 1 or 2 PK options up front.

The PK leans on Giroux heavily, his minutes will have to be dialed back next season.

Adding 1-2 quality PK forwards would be a big help for next season.

Some of the current forwards could develop into PK players. Pinto, Grieg, Stutzle, and Ostapchuk have potential.

Defense could use a big RD to clear the crease on the PK. Brannstrom and JBD are just ok.

Would be nice to find a goalie that can stop the puck while short handed. That's a big part of the issue

Biggest help the PK could get is a new goalie. Upgrading Brannstrom to a bigger defensive minded D that can clear the net would help but it won't change the PKs efficiency when Sanderson and Zub is out there, and despite good underlying numbers their GA/60 are similar to Brannstrom's.

So get a goalie, get a top 4 RHD, and if we have some money left, get a 3rd pair LHD and/or a 3rd line winger that can PK.

Jimmy has been killing penalties this year. I haven't really paid attention to deployment lately - did he get taken out of rotation?

I bet pinto would be fine on the PK. He has the hockey sense to be in the right places to disrupt play.

Start of season, giroux would take the face off then get off the ice if he could. Is he staying out on purpose, or because we're getting hemmed in?

Two new bottom 6 d are very needed. Neither jbd or branny are good enough at clearing the net and boxing out.

IMO Ostapchuk LW, Kleven LD & a new goalie would improve the PK by quite a bit.
