Drive for 25
We all know that college football and basketball compromise academic standards quite heavily in order to recruit players. But to what extent do the presence of major-junior leagues affect the academics of the players that take the college route? Are they, in fact, on par with the regular students?
IIRC UCLA had an average weighted GPA of 4.37 (despite the Pac-12 being a D2 ACHA conference in hockey) which is around average for the whole school. I know Ivies can, at most, recruit one standard deviation below school average but what about B1G schools (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, MSU)? Northeastern? Notre Dame? North Dakota? Other D1 schools?
