Lots of roster talk with varying degrees of rookies on our opening night roster. High hopes indeed.

Let's hear how many and who do you think makes opening night roster.

Roy (still Calder eligible), Hutson, Reinbacher, Mailloux, Beck, Demidov (I know...contract and all). What do you think???

I would've liked to see Hutson but it appears he's not gonna make it with Matheson staying, or st least I don't see the use in him getting 25 seconds of PP time when he should be getting the whole 2.

I'll say Roy and the rest go to Laval.

Outside shot for Heineman and Kapanen I guess?

Going with 3.

- Roy
- Hutson
- Then I think one of Farrell/Heineman impress in camp and take a spot. It was Farrell's first pro year last year and Heineman's first full year in NA, so i can see them being more ready at this year's camp compared to last year.

Roy
Hutson ( not sure how but he will start in MTL )

One of Reinbacher/Mailloux will end the year in Montreal after Savard is traded
I would love to see both Rein and Mailloux finish the year with the big club.

Heinemen and Farrell are bottom 6 guys. who do they bump?

do you put Kap ahead of Beck? All of the sudden we have centre depth again!

Kapanen has pro experience and is older, plus tailored for 4th line. I think they take their time with Beck. At least to start the year.

3: Roy, Hutson and Mailloux.
Reinbacher in AHL. Engstrom and Kapanen in Europe.

2025 will be much more exciting with: Demidov, Reinbacher, Kapanen, Tuch, Beck, and maybe Farrell.
2026: Mesar, Hage, Engstrom, Konyushkov, Fowler and 1st pick in 2025

Unfortunately, Davidson, Xhekaj, Trudeau, Heineman and Kidney won't make it. They might play few games from here and there.

I voted none. Let me explain before the tar & feathering.

It's for opening night & opening night only. Rookies will be brought up, probably fast, but opening night we are already full up with NHL players.

Now watch there be like 4 on opening night. Still will beat the Laffs though.

I kind of agree tho
Roy will be there so that's 1 for sure

But everyone has Hutson in the NHL to start next season and at the moment I just don't see it
EVEN WITH Guhle helping out at RD for what looks like 1 more year, or he's LD,
LD has Matheson, Harris (who I do not like but is unfortunately serviceable) and Xhekaj

And RD is looking like Guhle (sigh), Savard and 1 of Barron/Mailloux

And then there's the Hutson - Reinbacher magic from last Dev camp

I can totally see Habs opting to have Laval rock 1st pairing of Hutson - Reinbacher to start off the season for a while
I honestly do
Perfect opportunity to let them gel a bit

I voted 2;
Hutson
Roy

I think Luke Tuch is who I'd go with as an outside chance to crack the roster as well.

Roy will probably be there I think most agree

The D will be Matheson, Savard, Guhle Barron Xhekaj, Mailloux and Harris (maybe + Struble as 8th)
Mailloux did everything asked from him last year and earned his shot. He will benefit from playing under Marty and Robidas against NHL players more than in the AHL.
Reinbacher and Hutson should start in Laval. They will all see action with the big boys at some point

So Roy and Mailloux

2 or 3
Roy, Hutson, and possibly Farrell/Heineman

The season after that (25-26), we will have a lot of rookies:
Reinbacher, Mailloux, Demidov, Beck, Farrell, Heineman, Kapanen

Slaf - Suzuki - Demidov
Caufield - Dach - Roy
Newhook - Beck - Farrell
Anderson - Kapanen - Gallagher
Heineman

Guhle - Matheson
Hutson - Reinbacher
Xhekaj - Mailloux
Struble, Barron

Am I the only one who thought Mailloux looked ready while Hutson looked weak on D?

Only Roy will make the roster, unless management has the balls to waive Pezz/RHP and manage to trade Dvorak.
