Even though he was on pace (224) to break Gretzky's 215 point set in 1985-86, I don't think Lemieux would have broken it even if he played the full 84 game schedule in 92-93 season. But I think he would have broken 200.

Lemeiux was unreal that season. He would have broke 200. Shame what injuries did to this guy because he was such a terrific player.

Look at his shot percentages per game it's hilarious

The greatest part was his back to back 4 goals game LOL ( I mean who the **** does that anyway ?! )

this is gold.

Gretzky scored 4 goals against the Kings, and the next night 5 goals against the Flyers to hit 50 in 39 -- scoring 9 goals in those two games. I'm probably missing some others.

Yeah , well , Gretzky.Any other?

I always love Lemieux's stats for his last season in juniors: 70 GP, 133 G, 149 A, 282 P...I guess he was ready for the NHL...maybe it is just because I saw him play more often than Gretzky (east coast) but he was just about the most amazing player I ever watched.

Mario was by far the best one on one (one on anything, for that matter) player I've ever seen. Wayne was slightly better at using his teammates, hence why Wayne could score more points if both were on great teams, whereas Mario could score more if both were on lousy teams.

I think that is a fair assessment...Gretzky was amazing at manipulating the players on the ice, creating passing lanes and space for himself and his teammates...his vision was unreal...the other thing that made Mario so great was his size and strength, the guy was a beast. They both made some special plays.
