See if Washington wants a shake up, Nylander for Wilson. Inject some toughness that can play.

Offer Arizona whatever the hell they want for Chychrun, as long as they take Mrazek.

Try to trade for Blackwood or Bernier or Driedger or Gibson

Economics say Willie out, Kerf out, Mik out. Also Blackwell, Simmonds and Spezza can be improved on without a big spend. Pay whatever assets needed to deal Mrazik, move Holl because Lily is ready for his spot, add a legit #3c find a #1 goalie.

Time to start looking forward to next year. What changes can we make to improve the team? Some tough decisions need to be made. I want Nylander to stay but his days are numbered. He has no chemistry with JT and you're not breaking up Marner and MAtthews. Waste to have an 80 pt player on a line with Kampf. Trade him for a defenceman. Let Mikheyev and Lyubushkin walk. Sign Spezza to league min as 13th forward.

Bunting - MAtthews - Marner
Rakell - Tavares - Domi
Robertson- Kampf - Kase
Engvall - Blackwell - Motte
Spezza / Simmonds

Rielly - Pelech
Brodie - Muzzin
Lilijgren - Giordano
Sandin

Campbell
Wedgewood
See that guy in your avatar? If Max signs with us, he's going to be more heavily involved. Do you really want that?

There will be plenty of interest around the league in Trotz to fill a coaching vacancy. This team apparently is quite in need of...something.

Dubas built a terrible playoff core, that everyone told him wouldn't work and when it didn't work at first he chose to stick with it leading to a string of playoff ineptitude that is historic across all of North American sports.

He has to be fired.

Beg and plead Gio to stay.
Beg Spezza to stay.
Remove Engvall and Kerfoot. Mrazek and Clifford too.
Make a good trade involving Nylander and sell high. His skill level is top notch and if ever he can figure out that you need to try every game, not just once in a while, he'll be a real force in the league.

Acquire a goalie (Campbell's midseason death spiral cost us top spot in the East)

Keep the rest of the core. They were really solid this year and in the playoffs.

Going to have to get creative with the cap situation once again. I don't know if a big shakeup is a play this offseason. That being said something needs to happen. I hope this team can get better from within if some of the young guys can take steps forward and Knies, Robertson, etc can make a leap; the Leafs may be able to find some key improvements without needing to do anything overly drastic.

Tampa has 2 cups. Leafs have first round exits.

P.S. Tampa beat Leafs without Point; sick Kucherov and half ass Vasi.

Dubas is a fraud and should be fired. If it was up to me he would never have been hired in the first place
Again tell me what depth players could the Leafs have gotten if they had say the Tavares money freed up that would've for sure won them game 7 against Tampa?

Trotz want a management role?

Make Trotz the GM and have Dubas as his assistant if the Leafs wanna save face. Trotz will get Playoff warriors on this team. He'll know who to target

I'll ask again, what will firing Dubas do if you don't have one of the four players traded? There is only so much minor tweaking you can do.

If I made 500k a year (dubas' salary), I'd have the time to change many things.

For starters, I wouldn't run with Campbell and mrazek. Secondly, no team has had any success with even one 10+ mil forward. We have 3.

I believe most gms would have more to show after 4 years.

So will you answer my original question of how many first round loses before you are willing to accept that dubas needs to go? Or are you just going to keep dodging?

Fire Dubas to the fing moon man
What does he have to do get fired around here?

He got the coach he wanted, the goalie he wanted, the D core he wanted. Only 1 D is from Nonis/Burke era Reilly(Lilly from Babcock). Rest are his
Entire bottom 6 not named Engvall are his acquisitions

I don't think you got my sarcasm

So you would trade Marner or Matthews? Seems like a good idea.

No, I will not agree that Dubas needs to go for the sake of angry fans.

If Dubas was to be fired, the team would need to go in a very different direction. There is no point in firing Dubas if you are not altering the team.

Which of Marner or Matthews are you suggesting should be traded?
