If they lose next year then maybe you look at making the change. If they had been embarrassed rather than having a great series with a few bad bounces then maybe you could have pulled the trigger after this season.

Turning a blind eye to rape is a pretty big loser energy move.
Yup. I mean I want to win as bad as anyone but if I can't do it with integrity, I can live without it. Tere are more important things in life than hockey.

Yeah they could have done it last year too, my guess is that everyone except two people would have been fine with it. Doesn't make much sense after the season they had though. JMHO.

if the team he assembled wasnt good enough to win, he should be fired today, but, the assembled squad was good enough to have competed for/won the cup, we just played the 2 time defending champs, and should have ended it in 6, if not for a phantom call (and the follow up call).
Keefe is running out of chances though, and he just put up the best leafs season in their history, so, he likely gets another chance or 2, unless they go into a mid season tailspin.
Next season the leafs should be one of the favorites to win the Pres trophy and avoid that insane 2 vs 3 matchup, though, that would likely be when the league decides to rework the playoff structure again

Ovie Backstrom had 14 years. Stamkos and Hedman had 14 years. Stamkos, Hedman, and Kucherov had 8 years. Tavares has been here for 3 seasons. This core needs more time. Fans are so impatient. Leafs need a GOOD GOALIE!
So 6 consecutive 1st round exits, 5 that went to a due or die that set a North American pro sports record for futility is not long enough and makes fans seem impatient? 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I have now officially heard it all. LMFAO.

Edit: Double post.

Post Stamkos' team record for 14 years before they won ... I'll wait.

Of course a knuckle dragger like you would think this. I guess turning an eye to sexual assault is okay.

No one cares about a round… cup or bust. Do you think anything would be different with you clowns if they reversed roles with Florida?
If the leafs squeaked out a win vs an inferior opponent then got boot f***ed by Tampa in 4 straight would the dialogue here really be any different? I doubt it.
you know who talks and communicates like this?.....knuckledraggers and clowns. oh the irony

So you don't care how many first round loses we have with dubas as gm?

You would think actual leaf fans would want their team to succeed. That would involve winning rounds in the PO.

If the current management is unable to, they need to go. That much should be obvious.
I can't wait for the "We almost beat Tampa and got respect from them in the handshake line" banner to be raised to the rafters next year.

Anyone know what day that is?

I'm actually sitting here wondering if Bieber boy understands that you need to win "rounds" (four of them!) in order to win the Cup.

HE'S NOT DOING JUST FINE. Holy shit. Why does everyone keep cheering on perpetual failure? Literally NO PROGRESS from that Babcock Washington series. None. With the best roster situation possible.
It's funny seeing his fans praise the moves for more "grit" after spending the previous 3 years mocking fans for wanting more "grit".

It is your imagination. You can tell us what day.

a smart offseason and 20 games to start the season... that's all they're getting from me

I use to start fires as a kid... might have to get back into that hobby... sorta like an anti superhero

Honestly - he should already be fired. Letting Kadri/Hyman/Brown go for practically nothing, having to trade a 1st (Seth Jarvis) to offset Marleau contract. Sign Mrazek to a shitty long term deal.

Everything would be so simple had we not just signed Tavares - which I can't really fault him for since most of us wanted him. But the $ value just doesnt make sense if youre planning to give matthews, marner, and tavares all $11M

Bunting- Matthews - Marner
Hyman - Kadri - Nylander
Brown - Kampf - Mikhyev
Engvall - Spezza - Blackwell

What a better playoff roster that would have been lol

Now THAT is a playoff roster that I could get behind.

I have said it from day 1 that Dubas should have been fired for that Kadri deal alone.

Why would you want Hyman over Tavares? That's a 10000x downgrade.

We can (as in don't trade him) afford to have both JT and Kadri.

We can't afford Hyman Kadri Brown unless we trade Tavares?

Not sure with what cap space you think we can keep Kadri.

There's some useless players you have in there still + Holl you can cut if you really want to have Connor Brown and Hyman instead of Tavares. Odd choice but you do you.

Fact is we can still have our cake and eat it too. I think the point is it's a L all around for Dubas.

* For some portions of the playoff runs. Not with Hyman at 5+

really just trying to save Kadri at 3C to be honest. There is no cap limitations for matthews-tavares-kadri.

Even with the suspensions, with some better planned depth players we'd have rolled into round 2 with our 3 centers intact.
