We're on the same page there :)

But I just gave you an example of Dubas saying some dumb shit and he faced no ramifications from it. Which is what you asked for.

Dubas has been a failure. We haven't progressed past what Babcock did with rookies. A 1st round loss.

I've been screaming about Dubas for what? 4-5 years now? Saying he's not the man to lead this team to victory. That prediction continues to be correct. Full stop. I even called us missing the playoffs after he let Hainsey walk and had the Sparks debacle. I don't want to be right about this stuff. At least he's given up on 'muh veterans are bad' sadly it costs us a few years to learn that.

That’s pretty disingenuous to stand behind considering the circumstances of that season and the special playoff format because of COVID

Let's not dive into this one or the mods will pull their swords :)
Sure they're allowed to do that guess. Doesn't make it right.

Approved narratives only. I don't care what a goalie coaches politics are if he can get the job done.

Dubas literally said 'unfortunately our team is all white' ffs. LOL. You think that's ok? C'mon now. Far worse than liking tweets.
You can not care all you like. Most if not every team in the league would have canned him once his social media comments became known.
Never said the Jays took a step backwards when they traded for Alomar. Trading a core piece(s) for say 4 first round picks or a couple of blue chip players (Dahlin/Power/Byram + etc.) each would be taking a step backwards.
NO BASEBALL TALK HERE!!!!!!!!!!
No, I meant right now. He'd be a tremendous addition for this team but Dubas is the last guy that'd hire him
His toxicity meter right now is 11/10. Good chance he never coaches again.

maybe, but this is also the first playoffs where we outplayed an elite opponent.
I imagine you'd be totally apoplectic if the Leafs ever advanced with four 2-1 wins and three 10-0 losses.

Again...I point to you to that list of superstars who had "perpetual failure" until they won the cup.

This fan base has never drafted such glorious talent. We are all used to buying said talent after their prime. Talent takes time to develop and figure it out. As I just demonstrated factually by going back in time and listing all the players and how long it took them to figure it out.

Re. Lax.

Cool how many series wins did those guys have prior to winning the Cup? Any of them go 0-10 in elimination games prior to that?

I’d love to know!

Does it matter? If you are not winning your are losing. Washington fans were all but done with Ovechkin having not been able to win the second round for what? A decade?

Oh god. They even missed the playoffs in 2014. Could you imagine the absolute meltdown you would have if the Leafs missed the playoffs? Holy shit you would lose your bloody mind!

Your metric is simple to understand but it's impossible for making any real decisions beyond anything, if you can't understand the difference between Habs and Tampa series or how our core played in those series.
There’s always “a difference” with this team.

FFS they've lost 6 straight 1st rounds. I am so f***ing sick and tired of hearing how “This years loss was different”. I want at the absolute bare minimum a 2nd round appearance next year and if they don’t, then I want Shanny, Dubas and Keefe all out.

So you have one example and of course it’s the Caps. The only case where most of the guys on your list never made it past round 2. Very convenient.

And yeah I would lose my mind, I might even ask for changes to be made to the core and front office. Imagine that!

I posted plenty of examples ffs.

Literally every super star not named Crosby hasn't had an easy path to the cup.

Look up Yzerman, Lemieux, Sakic, Stamkos just to name a few.

You're not making sense dude.
How has he not been a failure with 4 straight 1st round playoff losses?

So, you don’t think there’s a difference between losing in the 1st round and the SCF right?

So, let me ask you something. Do you think that losing in the 1st round makes you a cup contender?

Lol. Man, you Dubas fanboys are really grasping at straws and scrapping the bottom of the barrel for excuses to make for him now.

Is it possible, however remote that this team isn't built for the playoffs. Too easily shut down when it matters most despite having all this talent

Re. Lax.
Now do drafted and first won a playoff series. There are no analogies, sorry.

One Cup Final appearance is what you want for this Leafs' era that produced 3 star forwards in consecutive drafts? IMO Washington totally blew its opportunity for dynastic Stanley Cup contention with the greatest winger since Howe/Richard. Washington's record is a really low bar and still one far above the Leafs' accomplishments to date.

I would have thought that 6 consecutive first round exits would have been enough crow for you to eat.
How so? I'm not in the habit of making predictions so what is this crow I should be eating? Or do you understand what the expression "eating crow" means?

Well. You're constantly defending Dubas as a good GM, so.

No. Because that's too logical for the Dubas fanclub to handle.
