I know Sweden used to be 2 years but Marcus Hogberg still seems to be thought of as a Sens prospect - so how long do teams retain the rights of players by country/league??
Read "Article 8.6: Reserve List-Exclusive Rights" in the CBA and that'll cover it. For example, Hogberg was drafted from a club outside NA, therefore OTT holds his exclusive NHL rights until June 1, 2017 as a 2013 draft pick, or four years. If he were drafted as a 20-y/o, it would mean only two years of exclusive rights from that draft.I know Sweden used to be 2 years but Marcus Hogberg still seems to be thought of as a Sens prospect - so how long do teams retain the rights of players by country/league??
