Valeri Bragin has coached the Russian Junior team at 4 WJCs and reached the Gold medal game in each of these tournaments, despite the fact that his teams usually are underdogs in the medal round.

How good is Bragin? Is he the best international junior hockey coach in recent years? Is he a great manager/motivational speaker that can get the best out of his players when it matters the most?

This guy always impresses me. I find that he has a better sense of timing than the Canadian coaches when it comes to goalie pulls and timeouts. In Canada they always wait WAY too long. Bragin has pulled his team back from the brink of defeat on multiple occasions to earn a victory and he almost did it again last night.

+he always motivated our team to beat opponent regardless of the level of his teams skill

There was a recent article on one of the Russian sports sites, that pretty much stated that he is good for short tournaments due to his great motivational attributes. He is not as efficient in a longer championship as was evident in his time with the CSKA a couple of years ago.

Anyway he is best coach for begeining new career of new little russian star - like Terasenko like Kucherov and kuznecov and may be many many etc.

Hell of a tourney coach.

He likes his experienced players, which explains why at a season level he may not have as much success. But now doubt he knows how to impact a game

I'd say he's pretty damn good ( and very entertaining too, addressing his troops from on high/ the edge :) ) Russia was a very cohesive looking unit, as I commented in another thread, from the QF game onward, and looked especially good vs SWE...too burned out to say much more...

I completely forgot about him standing on top of the dasher boards. If that doesn't inspire you as a player, check your pulse to make sure you're not dead!
