They've looked pretty good winning, and they can definatly score, but I'm wondering what happens when opponants test their defense.

Think Russia medals, or do they go out early?

Russian is by far the most exciting team in the tournament. The only question i have is will their goaltending hold up?? Other than that, they are a damn good team. The most enjoyable team to watch thus far in this olympics.

Well, they shutout Sweden, and that team has got some offense. I actually like their defense. Good mix of defensive defensemen and offensive guys. Not to sound like a homer, but if Volchenkov is hurt pretty bad and can't play, they will miss him.

Offence is top notch, the defence average at best. Who ever they play, it will be a high scoring game. Fun to watch.

He's fine, he's going to play. :D

Well, Russia scored the most goals so far and Finland is the only country to let in less goals than them, but I don't think either one really says much.

Russia can be the best team in the tournament but they can also pack it in. We'll see..

Exactly. They played poorly in the first game, but are playing like a medal-winning team at the moment. If they continue the way they are, like a team, I'm confident they'll do fine. But if the egos and attitudes and everything else that comes with the team pops up, I don't expect such a great finish.

Yeah, its all uncertain... But I think one can say that this is the best Russian (post-Soviet) team ever. The lines are beginning to click. Russia is as good as anybody right now overall. While defense is average, offense is the best.

There are no egos on this team, believe it or not. These guys are all on the same page; but the very creativity of these players means that individualism and breakdowns are unavoidable... Its ok, I'll take our chances with this team. You can't name one player that has not played hard (maybe Kovy, but even he is playing much harder than in ATL).

Its a happy team right now, and very hungry.

Russia / Nabokov got two sonsecutive shut-outs in these Olympics, something Canada, the US, Sweden, Slovakia and the Czechs couldn't do even once.

and they've certainly got the most exciting / explosive offense in the world.
i really hope it's Canada-Russia in the quarter final just so we can all see these two super-powers go head-to-head. what a game that's gonna be!

the game against the US tomorrow is gonna to be one fantabulous harbringer!
