Stats please. :)

And impressions. As they have shown greatness together and apart.

Are they better apart simply because the team lacks depth? Or is it Hull-Mikita lack of chemistry?

Together probably the best duo in the league. Apart they are both elite.

At ES:

Together: 40:25 GF (62%), 5.6 GF/60 to 3.5 GA/60

McDavid only: 44:30 GF (59%), 4.4 GF/60 to 3.0 GA/60

Draisaitl only: 31:25 GF (55%), 3.2 GF/60 to 2.6 GA/60

Neither: 57:81 GF (41%), 2.0 GF/60 to 2.8 GA/60

At 5v5:

Together: 27:16 (63%), 4.4 GF/60 to 2.6 GA/60

McDavid only: 40:30 GF (57%), 4.1 GF/60 to 3.1 GA/60

Draisaitl only: 29:22 GF (57%), 3.1 GF/60 to 2.3 GA/60

Neither: 40:45 GF (47%), 1.7 GF/60 to 2.0 GA/60

Without McDavid in the lineup Draisaitl is a ppg player, but a definite drop in production

They have way more chemistry than Crosby and Malkin have ever had.
They remind me of St. Louis and Lecavalier but on steroids.

That’s a bit of a flawed stat considering he was not quite the player he is today in McDavid’s rookie year when he missed 37 games.
It also does not take into consideration that when McDavid is out of the lineup a few games here or there, he has to play with new line mates that he hasn't had a chance to build chemistry with.

Drai has pretty much never had legit linemates while playing apart so it’s hard to compare. They have issues while playing together that can annoy Oiler fans but they can also make 5v5 look like 5v3 at times.

They typically don't stack them together anymore. Only about 30% of their EV minutes are together over the last four years.

They'd be lapping the field in points even more if they played together regularly, like Colorado, Toronto and Tampa does with their star players.

Yes when Draisatl won the Hart when McDavid went down he earned it.

Now he gets under rated.

They have instant chemistry on offence. But bad things start to happen defensively over time like neither of them are performing the d-zone duties of a centre as well as when they're apart. Great together in spurts and then better commitment to defence apart for awhile. Something like that.
