How Far Will The Habs Make It?
-------

I feel we will beat Tampa in 5, Play Boston win in 6/7. Then who knows. We absolutely are not cup favs, but I believe in this team and think they can make a real run at it. Anything can happen in the playoffs!

The Habs have dominated the Bruins who are apparently cup favs all year long, Winning something like 7 out of the last 8.

Can't wait to see the wheel of excuses..... If they even make it past round 1

I'm with him. This thread rocks!

2nd round, not enough players on our top 6 capable of playing a two way game...

we'll get killed by teams with depth AND structure.

Realistically we shouldn't make it past the second round. I'd be happy to beat Tampa but who knows, we won't lose the series 4-1 that's a promise.
As annoying as it sounds, this team has a **** ton of character and depth. We can actually be contenders in the East!!!

If Price is on his game, Subban plays the way we know he can and Briere shows that playoff magic just in case the Pacioretty-Desharnais-Vanek line gets shut down, I think we can go pretty far.

In a series with Boston, if we stick to our game rather than player theirs, I think we can beat them in a seven game series.

I said 2nd or 3rd round, depending on how the cards fall.

Cup Final isn't out of the question, Boston and Philly are the only two Eastern teams that scare me, but both are beatable (Philly moreso than Boston)

The way I see it, I think our fanbase is still suffering PTSD from last year's playoff. It hit us badly, we ran into a very hot goalie, and we've had some stupid calls going against us.

Look at it this way: in the event we actually do well this year, could we consider last year to be the accident rather than the norm? We can't let one bad playoff run to shade our expectations forever. The 2010 series consequences nearly ruined Washington, we cannot let that happen to us either.

Reaching the Cup final is very possible, but I'll go ahead and say that we will lose in a heart breaking way in the 3rd round... We deserve a cup, though! :naughty:

edit: Surprised few of us voted for a first round exit, this option seems like the most predictable.

Anderson was on a good roll. But the Habs, apart from Gallagher, didn't really bother the Sens goalie. Meanwhile, they always had players bothering Price while our D didn't clear them out.

We just played terribly, as a team, as a system and individually. Hopefully, the team has learned a good lesson from that.

We still heavily dominated Game 1, 2 and 4 with an injured lineup.

Boston May have a better team than Philly but I rather play boston than philly in the playoffs.

If we see scoring outside of Pacioretty-Desharnais-Vanek and our goaltending/defence continues to be a strong point, I think we've got a real shot at getting as far as the third round. We would NEED consistent scoring from Galchenyuk-Plekanec-Gallagher and Eller-Briere-Gionta, there's no other way.

If everything clicks, we'll be a pretty strong contender.
