Hope we claim Yegor Sokolov - he just went on waivers from Ottawa

Would be surprised if he makes it through waivers.

This guy is a skilled, big man 23 year old right shot, left wing/right wing drafted in the late second round in 2020 that just hit the waiver wire. He's 6'3" and 223 lb and put up 59 points in 70 games in the AHL last year.

Him and Knies would make a nasty 1-2 combo on that left wing moving forward. I'd claim him and put him right into that lineup on the second line due to him playing the right wing as well. After this year when Tavares is gone he moves to the left wing on the third line with Knies as second line left winger.

Bertuzzi - Matthews - Marner
Tavares - Nylander - Sokolov
Knies - Domi - Jarnkrok
Gregor - Kampf - Reaves

Doubt we get him but would be nice!

I'd make a trade if needed, I see potential here. But unfortunately I didn't double check my info in the article I was reading from today and he actually made it through waivers 4 days ago.

Ottawa was hoping he was claimed to help them sign Pinto.

I think the forward group is too crowded as is to add in yet another body at this point.

I agree he's an intriguing project though but probably better suited for another team
