It's honestly unbelieveable how ****ing stupid website owners are these days. Like honestly it's so rare to find a website that isn't a piece of **** and you can just easily use for the functionality it is intended for. Every ****ing site has like pop-up ads, autoplaying noise/vids, popups asking for an email, content that could easily be viewed by scrolling where you have to view it like a slideshow... Like it's not even just ads (adblocker but still) but like the formatting and layout of a lot of sites make it so cumbersome to load and clunky to use. I don't know who designs this **** or why these donkeys add so much unnecessary **** but like **** if you people would just make it easy to use your site I wouldnt have to find another one for the same purpose.

And the only way they can figure out to do it is to shove ads in front of consumers, who are actively opposed to receiving them and often actively working against them.

So what you get is this weird chess match between consumers and advertisers, where the advertiser is trying to make money by pissing people off. It's not all that different from certain other industries which breed bad relationships with their customers (airlines, cable companies).

Nhl.com is a joke. As for ads...in a case like YouTube if I get a 30 sec ad I just hit back and try again. Usually will get a 15 sec or 5 sec scipable ad

There is a specific ******* for youtube that I have used for years, almost before they even started adding ads to videos.

FWIW I use like five adblocks with different purposes, including one that stops autoplay. Basically I'm surfing like it's 2000 :> Only thing missing is something to go around all the paywalls.

But I have it turned off on sites I really like/support.
