I travelled to Montreal a few weeks ago for the first time. Loved it.
Smoked meat and poutine was completely overrated. It was delicious, but exactly the same as it is at home on the east coast of Canada. Bagels in Montreal are something special though.
The best thing I ate in Montreal was a steak. It was no ordinary steak. It was the best steak I ever had in my life by a mile. The restaurant is called Maggie Oakes. Maybe some Montreal peeps can chime in and say there's even better places out there. But this place was absolutely fantastic. If you're a meat man you need to check it out. Aged and cooked to absolute perfection.
