Sorry, but couldn't find a thread regarding this topic. I'm thinking of dropping my cable TV and just streaming. I was wondering how many flyers games you can get at hockey streams and what feed do you get? I'm central Delaware and considered philly market on TV. It also seems HS doesn't have open registration but is taking invites so I was wondering if one of my fellow brethren who use these services would be kind enough to invite me. Thanx in advance and any possible invitees could pm me. Ty.

I haven't used it yet but I've done some research because I was thinking about using it. I don't think there are any blackouts so you should get every Flyers game, but what feed you get I do not know.

As far as invites go, you fill in an invite form and then HS will email you an access code so you can create an account.

There are no blackouts. 95% of the time I went to watch the games, I had a CSN feed- **** those guys crack me up good. You'll get all your Phantoms games too. It covers international hockey events here and there. The WJC will be on there. All your CHL leagues (WHL, OHL, QMJHL)...... Oh and the monthly UFC PPV.

If you wanna be able to follow the organization, there really isn't a better option than HS for it's value. No idea about the invites thing you're referring to though.

I just signed up and got an invite a few days later. However, the invite just gives you access to their message board until you decide to "upgrade" to the paid membership which gives you the feeds for the games. I'm going to wait until November to upgrade and get the 6 month membership which will take me until April

Thanks fellas, just got on the waiting list!

Yeah?

I've had GCL for the last 3 years and I love it. What specifically is pushing you to make the switch?

Blackouts. Massive numbers of blackouts. Flyers games are on TV a lot in the DC area and I work until 8. So I'm damned tired of getting home to watch the last 15 minutes of the 3rd period. Every season I miss probably 15-20 games like this that I have to go back and re-watch, which is stupid since I already know the result.

I once missed just about every game in December two years ago because of this.

I used it all last year for every Flyers game, dont think I missed one. I froze my account because there is no games on right now. I think I might be able to invite you if it lets me.

You serious about the UFC feeds?!?!

I been using GCL for a couple of years and have mastered the art of bypassing the blackout restrictions. I like the quality I get but if I can get more bang for my bucks than it's an easy switch. Also, can you steam through a Roku (I own a Roku 3) or airplay through an Apple TV? Thanks for any input.

You can stream through airplay on appleTV, not sure about a Roku but it works with my Chromecast too. It has all minor league games as well.

It does say Roku on their site which you should check out if you have questions.

I have a referral url I dont know if that means I can get you in or what. But if you want it, pM Me.

How did you get it to work with Chromecast? I might swap over too if GCL don't add support for Chromecast.

chromecast now displays whatever youre playing on your phone. There was an update like a month or two ago.

I ditched cable for an antenna, and Roku with Netflix, Hulu, and Hockey Streams last year. No regrets other than the Phils.

I know Hockeystreams has Ballstreams too for basketball, maybe they have one for MLB too?

another nice part of hockeystreams is basicly ZERO delay...

GCL is usualy like 30 secs + delay...sometimes more.

i dont see any reason for anyone to use GCL tbh...their service sucks compared to what hockeystreams provides.
