Hi, I've played hockey for awhile now, but most of my equipment has been handme downs.

I am buying all new hockey gear (finally). I've managed to size everything pretty well at my local shop and then purchased it online haha. Anyways though what size sock is suggested for a 5'7 player? Junior or senior?

May be a dumb question, but I do actually wear junior skates (5.5 bauer) I also wear junior sized gloves (12), but I wear senior sized everything else.

Anyone else here 5'7-5'8? what size socks do you wear?

i have a few friends that are about 5'7 (though they claim they are 5'8) and they use senior. its not a huge deal to be honest. often i just grab a sock from the bottom of my bag. some are short, some are long, some are crusty and they often dont match. id go with the senior. short socks can be annoying

my current hand me downs dont match lol, but they arent crusty . . . .that really does not sound to good.

They are perfect size, but unfortunetely I don't know what size they are because they arent tagged.

Hockey Sock Size Chart

Size Sock Length
Senior 28 inches
Junior 24 inches
Youth 20 inches

Just get seniors and fold the tops down if they're a bit long.

Socks vary in size depending upon manufacturer anyway.

Is that from the ankle up or from the bottom of the foot strap?

There's no foot strap on any modern hockey sock. That's the length of the entire sock, it's basically a tube with elastic at the bottom end.

I'm 5'6 and use a senior sock, 28 inches. However, don't get the CCM ones- they're quite wide and will be loose and fall down. PearSox 28" or Twin City Seniors are great for smaller guys, they're a lot tighter so they don't slip around and fall.

I'm 5"7' and use the CCM Junior socks (24"). They're the perfect size for my legs and reach exactly the velcro on my JockPlus shorts. Keep in mind that not every 5'7" person has the same leg length though.
