For Ottawa...

Jason Spezza (19 points in 28 games) will be competing with Rick Nash for one of the forward spots <22. Nash has the edge at this point IMO, given he plays the wing, is a little more physical and is probably a better fit on a depth or role playing line than Spezza. I don't see both making it, given Fleury and J-Bo will probably take two of <22 spots, although you never know.

Martin Havlat (16 points in 20 games) is 22, but turns 23 in April, so he probably doesn't qualify for the Czech's, although he will be on the WC team.

Anton Volchenkov (3 points in 16 games) turns 22 in February, so I assume he will get some serious consideration for the third <22 spot on the Russian team. I'm assuming Ovechkin is likely to make the team, and Kovalchuk is obviously a lock.

Calgary:
Matthew Lombardi C 11 points
Oleg Saprykin LW 9 points
Chuck Kobasew RW 8 points

Lombardi started the year on fire, but has tailed off under the pressure of being the only natural center still standing in Calgary. Saprykin has turned it on in the last few weeks. Kobasew is only seeing limited ice time.

Regehr,Leopold and Betts are all 23 and miss the cut

Edmonton
Ales Hemsky (20) 27 7 13 20
Raffi Torres (22) 28 8 6 14
Jarret Stoll (21) 17 4 3 7
Alexei Semenov (21) 13 2 0 2
Tony Salmelainen (22) 10 0 1 1

If this is about the World Cup rosters, I would imagine Hemsky has a good chance of making the Czech team as there are only 5 Czechs with more points than him: Lang, Jagr, Hejduk, Bonk, and Elias, and they should all be close to locks to make the team.

We don't have a lot of guys under 22 on the Wild...Lemaire and Risebrough don't seem to like the young guns a lot...for some odd reason.

WE NEED MORE OF THEM!

That's a wrap folks until Connolly comes back from his injury. Derek Roy (20) makes his debut tonight.
