Switching mine up. Originally had Wallstedt #1, but if elite goalies aren't valued as highly in their primes, then that should probably be reflected at the prospect level as well.

1A Yurov
1B Buium

First 3 are easy for me, including the order. 4 is where I have to start making decisions.

It's reflected at the draft too. If there are skating prospects as highly regarded as guys like Askarov, Wallstedt are, they go top 3-5 in the draft.

It's hard for me to distinguish who is better between Yurov and Buium. Both key cogs to high level winning teams

The Wild org has done well to get three guys in Yurov, Wallstedt, and Buium who could be legitimate top-level players for a very long time.

My preference is to the forward who can put up points who might end up as the Center we've always wanted.

I highly value immediate availability and potential impact to the big club this season on these annual rankings. Wallstedt for me.

This is my bias talking as a goalie: while the position is easy to find a decent suitable player, a top top top goalie can be the special sauce to elevate teams to the next level.

That said, it's also hard to find #1 centerman and Yurov has it all besides blazing speed. Yurov is the easy #1 for me.

Wallstedt as he has skated some games with the Wild and has played well in the AHL
Yurov, this might swap once he's over and we can see how his game adapts to the NHL
Buium, let's see if he can follow up last season with a better this season.

Do you think Buium will take longer than 3 years to make an impact or are you just incredibly high on Ohgren?

The farm is looking strong.

Boldy, Rossi, Yurov, Ohgren
Faber, Buium
Wallstedt

Nice young core with a bit of everything.

Well, buiun did it as a draft eligible and Yurov did it in his d+2.

I think Ohgren will be a good scorer, maybe touch 30 at times, but I’m expecting more growing pains next year than most.

With Heidt, I’ll believe it when I see it. I don’t see his game translating very well to the NHL.

I think that had more to do with Yurov only being given around 4-8 minutes average time on ice per game in the KHL in his draft and D+1 years.

I tired making a list and realized I stopped caring and just started picking names after 6th when I went back and looked at it.

Wally, Yurov, Ohgren, Zeev, Kump, Milne.

Maybe I'll find more prospects to get excited about later in the offseason?

I mean, if you’re excited about Milne you could probably pick any player listed on this poll and be excited about them.

Not really. Milne and Wally were the only players in Iowa that I thought had some NHL potential.

Anything else I say will just be a downer, and these are for fun.
