Haven't voted yet but I'm thinking it's a tossup between paigin and bear

This is where it gets tough. Bear improved a lot during the year and should be viewed as a legitimate prospect at this point. Then you have Brossoit who has looked real good in the AHL but he's also 23 and struggled big time in the NHL this year. Then there's Paigin who had a very good year in the KHL getting bigger minutes on a lesser team and doing the most with it. The question is if he'll continue on that trajectory now that he's back in Ak Bars Kazan or if he'll stall in his development. Then you can mix in Jones/Slepyshev/Khaira and a bunch of other guys as well. Tough choice for sure. Ultimately I have to go with Bear, he just had a terrific year and if he can continue on that path he could be an impact NHLer.

LB..LB...LB...LB..

He would be #2 on the list if it wasnt for the 5 game stint in NHL.
Still has starter potential ..

Bear seems to be the bigger name prospect right now because of his point totals this year, but I personally like Jones more since a larger portion of his points came Even Strength and as Primary Points. Bear will carve out a career as a PP specialist, but I personally think Jones has a lot higher potential, top 4 for sure and maybe even top pair.

umm yea..
I wouldnt be too sure about D prospects..

Woywitka, Lynch, Fedun, Musil were all "surefire top 4" Dmen at one time. Griffin Reinhart and Martin Gernat also says Hi.

I will be thrilled if ONE of Bear, Paigin or Jones have a 200 game NHL career.

Top 4 potential is what I meant by that.

Paigin
Bear

LB
Jones
Sleppy
Oesterle
Niemenelen(?)

bitten one too many times with these long shot prospects that are looking good in other leagues. I am not willing to put them higher than someone like LB until they are at least in the picture for a NHL callup. Both could very well be ECHL regulars in 2 yrs.

Probably wouldn't hurt to run these polls for more than a day. I mean, we got like 90+ days til the season starts. ;)

I may be in the minority but I will begin to start voting for Slepyshev till he is picked. I think he not only has the potential for high upside when he adjusts better to the North American game, but with his size and skills I think he is a safe bet to become an every day NHLer.

I'm a big fan of Slepy and I agree. The moment he's able to speak more than 2 words of English, his game will translate. He plays a NA style game

would you really pick him before someone like Khaira after how both finished the season last year?

I know we're all down on how he closed out the year, but Brossoit has starter potential and should be way higher than a probable 6th or 7th on our prospect chart. I don't trust anyone else below Puljujarvi in the organization to be a top line/top pair/#1 goalie. For me Brossoit would have been second or third.

May be a slepy/brossoit toss-up for me next. I value goaltending but also know what slepy provides.
